Both male & females visit. Even Babes are huge. A mother & calf visited in 04. They walked around our house within 6 feet of our picture windows & both were larger. Last year riding bikes along Libby creek we flushed Moose twice from the bush. The third time we thought one was charging & peddled fast. Turned out it was a very friendly horse who wanted to follow us home. We laughed so hard at our panic but priceless expierence. Never had flushed a moose hiking or by bike before this. Luv MT.
aww..he's so friendly....so sweet! I have some white tailed deer that come through my yard and a bunch of raccoons...the deer love apples i leave apples out for them, and the raccoons eat anything and everything! :)
i didn't see any rose canes on his skull, and i have hunted calf like this and u can see that they have small, small lumps on it's head, so i doubt that this is a bull. if u watch from 0:52, u really should be able to see one lump on each side of the skull
Bull moose lose their antlers in the spring time, and only grow them back within the next 1 or 2 seasons. This is a bull moose because of the large amount of skin at the base of the neck, and bull moose have bigger humps on their backs than cows.
That is a cow moose. Bull's have testicles and a penis sheath. If you look close at around 20 sec's when you zoom up on it's butt, you'll notice a complete lack of testicles. Then as it turn, you'll notice there's no penis, no beard to speak of and no buds from horns up by the ears.
I wouldn't shoot one in my yard either except from extreme need. I hunt about 6 hours from where I live and bagged a beautiful Bull moose this past fall. And yes, he had testicles, a penis, and horns!
LOVE THOSE EARS, IT IS NO WONDER I HAVE A MULE. I do have a moose over my fireplace, but I bought it dead already from an estate, I could never shoot one.
Yep, I have to say this is quite awesome.. coming from a family of hunters I know we would almost have the pet as a moose if it was hanging around like that, no way in hell would we shoot it.. it's a beautiful creation of nature.. until something bad does happen.. until then gotta live and let be
Amen.... Wait till you see the raccoon I got video of tonight i just couldent do it i had the gun and i THINK its what tore intyo my cat a few months back but Gee Whiz it was a Momma and She Picked up the little cereal marshmallows by the handfull guess the cat will have to learn to get along too...;-p add me im uploading Coon Tomorrow
Aw? A raccoon, no way.. I couldn't do it just for the simple fact that I watched the cartoon when I was growing up! You'll definitely have to keep your cat a safe distance from her though, they are known to carry diseases and spread them like wild fire
its Nature and its their Front yard not my Back yard!! live and let live my god what should i do scare him off or shoot him?? not an opition I like the Moose and he is welcome at my home till he decides to leave or shows himself unfriendly...

Are you trying to get yourself killed? What if the cat startled the moose? As a hunter you know the risks but I have known alot of dumb hunters. I hope this does not end badly for you.

This is a juvenille moose. Just because it doesn't have antlers doesn't mean it's automatically a cow.

@ArrowDoe Yes we saw it up close and went back and forth hours but the vote was baby boy...;-p

@ArrowDoe Its a male. The biggest indicator is its attitude, male moose have huge ego's.

Also, the female moose are more docile then the males.
PS; A bull moose without antlers is a female moose xD

It's sad when you don't know what a male is supposed to look like.

Get educated, huh? They're antlers, not horns. ;)
