@PuppetsGalore The book & the screenplay were written by William Goldman, one of my favorite screenwriters! (Check his bio on Wikipedia) The Princess Bride actually originated as a bedtime story for Goldman's two daughters.

Goldman's first book also wrote a book "The Temple of Gold" was a High School coming of age favorite of mine. he also wrote the novel "Marathon Man" and some really great screenplays like "Misery" & Academy Award winners "A Few Good men" & "All the President's Men"
