@cnsdigital julian hadf it were it counted; but there was a lot of behind the scenes that went on to cause djs like bill, frankie "hollywood", brian middleton; bobby d. to take backseat to julian and his posse
@junior1011000 Schurz is pretty well known now for it's gangs and low graduate rate. It seems that people who grew up here in Chicago in the late 80s to mid 90s left for Cali or Texas.
Well I guess you could say that. The way I see it now and than is that you need to survive and become the most you can be. So it really depend on that person if they really want to become someone in life and teach it to our kids. I could say I grew up in a rough place and my parents couldn't afford to move out but I went forward on life and became a successful person and I can't complain I am doing pretty good on myself.
@junior1011000 If leaving your home is what it takes for a better life then I feel you. There are literally no jobs here in Chicago but I'd be leaving so much behind if I leave.
OH" your still young and you have a lot to accomplish and sorry to say this but I don't thing you would really leave so much behind you. Not only if you have kids or been married before, but you still could do much more. Tell me something have you attended college after finishing high school? What type of work do you do?
@junior1011000 I went to college right after high school. I went for medical assisting for 2 years. I got a job at a small clinic after finishing school and it was THE worse job I had ever had in my life. My co-workers had their own little circle and did nothing but give me a hard time and the Doctor in charge was pure evil. I am currently looking to get into something else though but I'm still looking.
Hey Danny, you mention that you taken medical assisting, Well how about and using that experience and mixing it up by taken X-Ray courses and be a X-Ray Technician just blend your medical to it. Is a good paying work of line.
Man this brings back memories. I think I was in middle school. Does anyone remember having these house parties at the hotels? We would always go to the Holiday Inn in Itasca, Julian Jumpin Perez would always host. OFF the HOOK!
Bad Boy Bill kicked ass in hot mix music.Ever since I first listened to it in the early 1980's on WBMX Fm Chicago. His music was great on B96 also.Julian Jumpin Perez,Mickey Mixin Oliver,Steve Silk Hurley,Farley Jackmaster Funk.Nothing but hardcore awesome.
if anyone can help me out i'm lookin for this song i think it's called " on top of the groove" old song and i 'm tryin to find out who made it......the chorus goes a lil sumthin like this i hop........" da music's nonstop da beat steady drops on top of the groove" and then da beat kicks in.......if anyone knows it hit me up please truly appreciate........house will neva die
November 29, 1991 - I was a junior in high school. The Bulls were the shit, B96 was the shit, BBB was on his way up. Life was all good! This mix brings back good memories. Thx for posting it!
Bad Boy Bill's the shit. Back in like '94 or '95 he went to a party some friends threw at the American Legion in Elgin. He threw down for like 35 minutes and he broke camp like a mf. GOOD TIMES!
@undergroundhousecom It sounds like FM radio taped to a cassette ;) What should be done about that? It's about a coolest thing to tape and share something that You can't find from the any official archives 20 years after, of course the live FM radio broadcast was even cooler :D
I use adobe audition to clean them up. take a noise profile of the tape hiss. then perform the clean up. makes it much better. you can also use a filter to take out the rumble. and the use a multiband compressor to bring everything back up to level. only takes 10 mins to do, and makes it much better.
sry just noticed your reply. its great when some type of world music comes together perfectly with house, i got a track that just like that, i got just the thing im gonna post a track up like that soon.
in one of the edward getdown crosby mixes has a little 30 second or 1 minute has a latin style mix in there, im gonna have to reupload the entire mix it was so good i didnt do it justice
I graduated high school in '91. I remember cruising with my girl Renee. We used to follow cute guys on the road.

what i mean is that unlike all that "latin house" that i hear on the radio, finally that latin kings track got it right.
magicflea123 4 years ago
yup its rare to find good latin house beats, they always screw it up, this one however is aamazin
HouseheadSeb 4 years ago
I used to think Todd Terry had some hispanic in him the way he would blaze those latin-house tracks back in the days, for a brotha... LOL.
Kenny Dope was amazin too, using that Celia Cruz sample, for "A touch of salsa"... now THAT was latin house!!!!
