I've been living in Japan and I have not seen a single piece of Dolphin meat. Actually I had to search real hard to find whale.

Hardly anybody eats that stuff, so I'm not sure what they do with the whales and dolphins that they kill. It's a highly subsidized business that feeds fishery corporations, not the mouths of any considerable part of the population. It's a double shame that way, so to speak, but I wouldn't worry to much about any such poisoning...

Here is neat fact : According to a study by the Environmental Protection Agency, America produces 90 tons of mercury pollution per year. That's ALOT. America is ALSO the number one producer of greenhouse gases. Japan is ranked 20th on the list of the world's cleanest countries. America is ranked 61st. Whoever made this video might want to think about cleaning up his/her own country before bashing others.

Seems to me that is an argument for Japan's continued exploitation of the Southern Ocean more than anything else.

Mercury? Fishes other than dolphins,some of them contain fair amount of mercury,like a tuna,alfonsin, swordfish...and many of middle sized fishes contain a little. So that means, someone eating tuna sandwich or fish-&-chips... very often like the fat Americans or Australians eating like pigs,is more dangerous than someone eating a slice of dolphin meat once a month. It's not black or white issue. It's about moderation.

Okay.....if dolphins eat fish and have high levels of mercury then well all the nations of the world are to blame pumping poisonous sludge into the oceans. Not just dolphins or whales will contain mercury, all species in the sea will. We just cant take the moral high ground and say "Oh dont eat dolphins because they have mercury".
