I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old Sports Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Mercedes vintage owners in Germany do so :)
Hi mate i have an e34 m5 (s38b36) could you tell me pls if i follow your setup, how much hp i gain? because i love normally aspirated engines and i don't want to buy a turbo kit.
And i have one more question: I know in this matter it is no point, but for me could be interesting: Doues the fuel consumption increase much?
Nice sounding car, the only trouble is if yer a tuner you'll never be satisfyed, maybe this emulsion tube will work better, how about an air bleed change, and on and on. The trouble is temp and air pressure change, so ya gotta compromise and let it be, until the next urge to see what this change will do. If yo manifold the air bleeds togeather you can change the mixuture from inside. I made two stage bleeds but never perfected it, you can lean it for top rpm through the bleeds.

@ottsi Oh, now I see, for some tuning freaks who like to experiment with carb and ignition settings it is a real challenge to take. Their aim is to make a better engine setup than factory engineers do. They don't even care if they get the engine worse in performance and characteristics so that they can be proud of their own engine setup. Anyways, BMW M engines have perfectly tuned stock headers so I don't think it's possible to make 'em any better at home.
this engine has better performance than stock (dynoed). The header is from a m88 engine and larger in diameter and have custom secondary pipes. The header dont have those flow restricting air tubes either. BMW had to consider noise, emission, fuelconsumption, durability etc. so yes its possible to make everything better if You don't have to care about other stuff than power.
@ottsi can you tell me ignition map to rpm i have m30b35 engine with schrick cam an weber 48 i want to putt microtech LT-16.May car now run with m20b20 distributor cap without vacum therefore i dont have hi rpm power so i wont to solve this problem standalone ECU i set my ignition to run fine but i think that as the speed of the engine rises, the ignition advance angle needs to increase

Absolutely brilliant car. What kind of exhaust system does it have - original manifolds then one or two silencers?
LashoutUK 8 months ago
@LashoutUK BMW M88 headers, 2,5" secondaryrunners into a single 3" system with a single 250mm long oval muffler at the end.
Glad You like my car! :D

Dog leg 4spd? Obviously I'm not a Bimmer guy, but that thing is trying to convert me.
Nice driving also... Any estimated(even ballpark) 1/4 mile times?

@72rockcruiser
best 1/4 time is 12.09 and180kmh:

Why the hell is the weber carb better than the stock injektor system for the S38?
SkywalkerTibor 1 year ago
@SkywalkerTibor
No one says its better, but it suits the car better and is more fun to work with, injection is to easy to tune :D
This setup actually has more power than stock due to better breathing and better headers also tuned fuel and ignition.
