My MacBook is the same as yours, with the same problem just starting today. I am wondering of you know how they fixed it? Or if anyone knows how to fix this?!? Any advice is good, thanks.
Hey, I have almost the same problem with my macbook pro from 2009. It happens that it won't start some times. I don't have an apple store in my country. I'm a PC user but I bought this mac and I have it for some time. I like it more than any PC I had desktop or laptop. But this problem is worrying me. It just started recently.
My macbook 3.1 with the nvidia card had already 4 logic board replacements in 1.5 years old he had, works fine for a few months and then fails again :(
Same problem with mine and since I don't have an Apple Store in my country, I took it to best buy (geek squad) with a paper copy of the online article in Apple's web. They replaced the graphic card free of charge!!! and it only took like 5 days!!! My memory is intact!!

MacBook Pro has failed, or fails within three years of the original date of purchase, a repair will be done free of charge, even if your MacBook Pro is out of warranty.
HOLA AMIGOS In July 2008, NVIDIA publicly acknowledged a higher than normal failure rate for some of their graphics processors due to a packaging defect.
