Very good interview. Jacques Rougeau used to irritate the hell outta me and simultaneously make me laugh as The Mountie (especially when he went to jail). Listening to this interview I can see that he is a very grounded, down-to-earth guy. It's refreshing.
Oh please, you know how many THOUSANDS of guys who do steroids? They don't kill their family. It's BS. Steroids has nothing to do with it. I always thought Jacque Rougeau was somewhat intelligent. He sounds like a moron here. Total muscle head. No brains.
Jacques wasn't jakked he was just toned. Him and Raymond were a great tag team because here's two men who wrestled hold for hold. They knew them all. So yes there is proof in what Jacques was saying.
This video made me like Jacque Rougeau. Everything he said is completely right, and I do agree with him that pro wrestling should be more family oriented.

Jacques Rougeau isn't a nice guy. In real life, he attacked the Dynamite Kid backstage cause he thought the Dynamite Kid played a prank on him, so he attacked the Kid and hit him in the mouth with a roll of quarters knocking four teeth from the mouth of the Kid. There's your nice guy right there.
Heck, Dynamite admitted that he smacked Jacques around 1st. The deal was Curt Hennig cut up the Rougeau's clothes. Jacque and Raymond thought it was dynamite who did it, and he started mouthing off to him, and Dynamite backhanded him. and that is what set off the whole melee between the 2. Plus, Curt Hennig told the Rougeaus that he was the one who cut up their clothes. At least that's what Dynamite said in his book.
@twillbanks he's a really nice guy, I did some work on the indies with him and he was very professional and very helpful. He gave me great pointers and always had something polite to say about my work in the ring. He most definitely has my respect and I hope to wrestle for him again in the future.
@twillbanks he is!! I was very very fortunate a couple of years ago to spend some good time in Jacques' company here in the UK & he was a true blessing to be around, he was incredibly humble & I kinda got the feeling that he didn't see himself as the legend that he actually as, as opposed to other guys who were/are in the business, Jacques' did a lot in the Wrestling world ... & he was a great athlete too, which for this he should be commended.
Jacques a really cool guy in person..I trained with him at his gym in Montreal, and I agree with Flair27.he shouldn't have used this tragedy to promote his wrestling school
the WWE's wrestlings are all on the streroids and others drugs that's the wrestlings worlds today ! if you wanna be in the WWE YOU MUST USE. I like rougeau but like martel and the others he used to be in the juice bravo took big steroids also don't bullshit jacques come on you know the game !!!
Chris had a lot of brain damage. I dont think it was steroids alone. I mean the man lost teeth. I feel like he may have not been all there. But he dealt with a lot of stress out of the ring. Anyone with that can snap.
As much as i like Jacques, i think he did a real bad think by using that tragedy to promote his own little wrestling league. One thing is for sure, Rougeau is more than qualified to talk about steroids.
But please Jacques, next time, dont use a tragedy like that to promote your fed. Thats uncalled for and should never be done in my opinion. I still like you Jacques, but please be more carefull next time my friend.
jacques said nothing wrong at all in that interview, all he tried to do was say that he turned down a return to the wwe bacause he's busy running his own old-style famiy orientated promotion. lets be honest, i think most fans would prefer to see a return to 80's style wwf rather than the "attitude" shit mcmahon has been shoving down our throats for the past 10-12 years.
Let me clarify something with you about Jacques little fed. His fed is family oriented, but not old 80's style. There's no punch and no kicks and he described it as the Walt Disney of wrestling in an interview in a french tv channel.
Im not saying that he said something wrong. I said that he did simething wrong to plug his little fed, while he was there to talk about the Benoit tragedy and give his expertise about steroids. Thats why i said that it was uncalled for because it was bad timing.
McMahon works his guys to the bone with smaller house shows which is the reason that these guys get hurt so frickin often. THEN they start with the painkillers and it cascades downwards from there. Benoit and Guerraro died for these reasons, they just worked too hard too much for too long.
I dont believe Jaques when he said that Rick Martel was not on Roids. I was just watching some of my old tapes from the 80s and Martel had to have been on Roids.
No way, Jacques has never been called a prick. Jacques has always been a stand up guy. Even Hogan let Jacques beat him in Montreal out of respect for Jacques and this was when Hogan was at the top of WCW.
Jacques Rougeau tells the truth, and he was always truthful and honest and very respectful.Remember the question was not were u betsf riends, but within wrestling business, they all know and have talked to eachother alot...they see eachother been around, more than their own family members
I guess you knew Chris Benoit better than the guy who was on the roads with him for alot of years,2 guys that probably talked alot between fellow countrymen especialy since both were born in Montreal, they were traditioanl technical wrestlers and are part of the 2 great familys of Canadian wrestling...And as for his promoting of the show only towards the end does he go into it and its for a good cause.
