@Manny32V you can see he's fighting for grip trying to find the right amount of power to maintain a drift without causing the rear wheels to spin too much, which would cause uncontrollable over steer; having a bit more weight at the rear doesn't help too (more prone to oversteer). Finding that perfect amount of pedal input at that speed (less down force and wheel spin easier) is like finding a needle in a haystack
@BarbarianStarcraft true, hamilton does a great job though, once an f1 car starts to oversteer a bit too much it's bloody hard to keep it under control
@Mcyoussef Why? If we aren't talking about Driving on mud roads like in WRC or so, oversteer just costs time.... at least they would make it neutral, but never oversteering....
@BarbarianStarcraft They actually oversteer more than they understeer. It is easy to brake loose in an F1 car, just go full throttle round a turn. But controlling that oversteer is a whole other ball game ;)
That is bloody hard, I have been to Mercedes World at Brooklands and tried to do that in a E55 AMG, V8 Twin Turbo thing, I epically failed. The surface is a mixture of water and diesel and is so slippy you just can't put any power down without the rears spinning up. Great fun!
@Zeeekiiii do u even know the meaning of drifting???

Sliding gives time rarelly, and if it gives, then only if used for very short time to give the car more engine power on exit

Agreed, drifting is never quicker!

no the longer a car is sliding, the less power is getting put down to the road, so its slowerrr

lol this is like trying to get a woman out of the kitchen.. this cars are made to grab the track and stay planted.

yeah, the f1 cars are too powerful and light to mantain a balanced drift.
serginietor 4 months ago
@serginietor no, they are just aerodynamicly built to have little understeer and no oversteer. Oversteer costs time...
BarbarianStarcraft 4 months ago 6
@BarbarianStarcraft yes, that's also true, they aren't designed to go sideways, they are designed to avoid going sideways
maybe if you took away the rear endplates and had a less aggressive rear wing cambering you could drift it somewhat easily
serginietor 4 months ago
@serginietor maybe it would be enough to radically change the setting....

@BarbarianStarcraft it should have a little oversteer to be the fastest lol. Not a but understeer...

BarbarianStarcraft 3 months ago
@BarbarianStarcraft Because if its on the edge of oversteering, its the fastest. UNdersteer is the worst you can have.

@BarbarianStarcraft Some drivers use it to gain time.

@serginietor mid engine layout doesn't work so well drifting either..
