i had a similar tactic using the M4 & bandana where i turned on auto aim and just propped the controller so that R1 and L1 where constantly being held down. lol reminds me of the raft trick from FF6.

You can cut them down with the machine gun and they'll drop the GSRs. Then you can blow away the ones that reappear with the rocket launcher/ grenade gun/ whatever without worrying about blowing the guns off the cliff.
i think another easy way is to first kill every 1 in the game then and when u get to this part do wat he tells you 2 do then u should have alot of cash

theres a place you can get 374,000 drebin points each 5 minutes...its on act 2 after you meet with drebin for the second time, find a house, outside the house find a pile of wood and sit there, pmcs will come, kill them and get their weapons, each weapon=12,000 rebin points
I tried this too,and its not worth much for all the time you'll spend on it holding down the fire with patriot to aquire the money I spent alot of time doin this too,but felt it a waste of time!Made only 100,00 in 45 mins to an hr..ridiculas!
get the patriot and crouch and put rubber bands on L1 and R1 and put on the auto lock and just in case equip the ration item or the ipod song where your accuracy increases. im currently doing that for the stealth item and maybe for the bandanna but ill stock up on dp points in case i need something in the future. hope this helps.
Taped my R1 and L1 buttons down and turned on auto aim in the first corridor you encounter the dwarf gekko, went to bed, and woke up with an extra 1,500,000 DP
I was getting about 42.5 DP (yes, i calculated) per SECOND. multiply that with 60 seconds in a minute = 2,550 DP per minute. Multiply that with 60 minutes in an hour = 153,000. Multiply by the 10 hours i slept = 1,530,000 DP in 10 hours!

There's a limit as to where they can go. I think it's the third line of the walkway. But you should make sure you're at the third walkway before going there otherwise they will shoot you from behind.
In the Mansion fight, lots of people have XM320s.Disarm (Press R1 right when you grabe them in a CQC hold) XM320 people and it will give you 12,000 DP each. I got 500,00 easily this way.
mate, another fail safe is to use the Patroit then judge where the Dwarf Gekko will land then keep shooting to your hearts content and... NO AMMO CHARGES xD Cheap skates ultimate theory!
I found the ultimate cheat for Drebin Points by accident.
First load an old game save or start a new campaign. Choose Liquid Easy difficulty! Play through till act 5. Now buy ammo until all or some guns are up to 9999 bullets or until you run out of dp. Then finish the game. Start a new campaign on Solid Normal or higher. These put an ammo+ item capacity on them. It pays you for the extra at full price unlike when you bought them at half price. Once you get to Drebin check you points.
use the patriot gun instead since it has unlimited ammo and have auto aim its alot easier then put rubber bands on l1 and r1 bottons then you can just go to sleep or somethin
you get 50 DP but he sucks because once you finished the game and get the PATRIOT GUN you can use it and like the gun has unlimited amo you just go to options and set the aim to automatic, that way snake will aim the enemies and they will drop their weapons. after that go all the way without leving the area where the droid appeard and go back and forward this works!! i get like 500000 Dp in 30 min!

Even Better way. Equip Patriot, crouch, clear the closest then move forward a bit so that when they spawn they roll towards you, use auto-aim and just hold L1 and R1. I did this but changed the channel so i watched TV. And if you use some kind of tape you can just tape L1 and R1 down and go and so something else or go out or something.

another way that is very easy is that you go to eastern europe in the south sector there are 2 roadblocks one in the beginning and one in the end of the sector and there are 2 guards per road block both carrying masterkeys worth 9000dp and if u tranq them with the crying tranqs then you get tines 1.2 and the whole run through adding in the other soldiers you get about 50,000 db per run with no fighting now if you find this useful then message me and tell me how you did

Another good way to earn DP is with the Tanegashima.
Ok, so you need a bit of dough to by the Tan, but if you want to buy stealth or bandanna keep using tanegashima in populated areas, scoop and sell the rewards.
Personally i still think the easiest way to get stealth and bandanna is a no kill no alert playthrough, remember if you need to you can do it on liquid easy (or so i hear).
Or try Big Boss run, it's hard but save frequently and practice.
i did this with the m72 and got the tanegashima in 30 minutes.

Thats only if you hold them up. If you kill them its 0.10 X 1.00 so you only get 10% of the weapons value. non leathel is .20 and hold up is 100%
