    Felix, HALTS MAUL!!!!

  • immer diese schleich werbung xD

  • i found out this experiment the hard way and my dads tool shed lost its life fxxxing thing was a wast of space anyway and my summer house is there now mha ha ha haaaaa jaffa cakes

  • Jeeze who's the darth vader god hevy breathing to the extreme learn to breathe correctly

  • Yeah! And? People have been lighting fires in the wild like this for years.

  • cool. Tip: dub some music over your breathing next time

  • hahaha this comment made me laugh!

  • it is maby suppose to feel, "live"! :-)

  • awesome

  • Toilet paper also works pretty well with the wool

  • batteries + wires = fires

    =D

  • We used to do this for fun at our local electric railway line.We would throw a projectile with copper wire attached over the 25kV lines

  • san diego fire start

  • nice. i tryed that but the steel wool just doesnt want to get going, does it have to be certain steel wool?

  • Is the battery flat? Don't know about the wool, i assumed it was all the same.

  • yeah i got it to work today, the battery isnt too flat i dont think. i tied the wool on my bicycle wheel

  • @mattcadders I've had the same problem, but I've had success in the past. The stuff that burns seems to have a blue tint.

  • @XTIRP8 the thinner the better and when it starts to burn blow really hard on it then put something like a tissue or something flammable

  • = fire

  • If i do this with a 12 volt alarm battery, Will I blow My Head Off?

  • no, well......not your head anyway, hehe.

  • I did the same thing by accident in high school electronics class about 10 years ago when I threw what I thought was a dead 9V battery into a bin of steel wool (which I thought was just a normal bin). Suffice to say the class loved the resulting fire but the teacher did not.

  • lmfao, great storey

  • @astrant82 Did you get in trouble at all? I hope for their sake they believed it was an accident (sounds like an accident to me)

  • @the06bug I got told off for it but I think they believed me that it was an accident.

  • You could like tie the steel wool on a string then light it then spin it then u get sparks flying evrywere

  • a 6-volt battery should work even better because of the higher current reserve.

  • only problem with 6 volts is there may not be enough voltage to get it hot enough...

  • this is how i start fires when i go camping. one time after i got the fire going, i put the exta steel wool in my pocket with the 9v batery and my pants caught on fire. lol, it was kinda funny, but it hurt

  • liar liar pants on fire!

  • Another trick is if you go camping take some wire wool and when you want to make a nice camp fire you can..and it don't matter if the wire wool gets wet just shake off the water and away you go.But don't forget the 9 volt battery though....

  • yep, excellent way to start a fire in the rain, so long as you can find dry wood, lol

  • Does it work with cottonballs or anything else?

  • nope, any fine wire should reproduce the same effect with the correct voltage.

  • the 9v batery only works w/ the steel wool to start the fire, but cotten balls will catch on fire easy once you got the steel wool burnning

  • great if you are out of matches.

  • is the steel wool able to do this more than once or is it useless after that?

  • just the once.

  • which is a pity because if it could be reusable it's survival value would be insane.

  • "which is a pity because if it could be reusable it's survival value would be insane."

Not to mention its potential application for building perpetual motion machines...

  • LOL, good point. i wasn't think infinite. but yea.

  • Wow, i would've never guessed it could do that.

a little music would be great though (if you have windows movie editor then its really simple)

  • Hahaha Pro Cell. My mother gets those from hospital.
