Contrary to what the former leaders say, I believe had Jaruzelski not taken the necessary action, Russia would've been forced to in the end. I don't doubt Jaruzelski supressed Solidarnosc for his own reasons, but the fact that he did saved the Polish deformed workers state from capitalist restoration by nearly 10 years until he sold out.

I remember seeing a photo of a Polish worker on a hunger strike in Gdansk 1989 in protest not against the Stalinist regime, but against Solidarnosc. The Catholic Church is evil, it opposed Communism only on the grounds that it was atheistic. The Catholic Church stood behind 90% of the world's dictators, promoted bigotry through "family values".
