that happened 2 me too! it was my freshman year on the HS bowling team and i was fillin in for 1 of the varsity guys that was sick. first game i threw on varsity i started out with the first 7 or 8 and on the next ball which was identicle to the rest dead in the pocket, a pin went into the pit bounced out hit the left side wall stood back up and slid into the 5 pin spot, and the machine picked it up and recognized it as the 5 too. all the spectators and other bowlers all went silent in disbelief

On the 8th shot, mixer strike, the 8 pin (i think) got smacked by the head pin coming off the wall and stood it back up. Like some damn whodini trick. I proceeded to strike out the game for a 279. THAT....is a ripoff.

I'm not in the game anymore but I know a lot about it and I have seen this happen before. Either way it's a bad break but in your case it didn't matter too much since you were left with a bad leave, whether the pin stood or not. And if you don't mind me saying so, you have a really nice game.  If you could square up just a little, you would be able to extend your follow through and that would allow you to keep the ball on line. That shot demonstrated that you can leak it right. Try it!
