ive came to a conclusion to play games other than using this method...swap magic crap or ar max to get freemcboot on the ps2 and just run the games that way, but this way is good for ps1 games on ur ps2, but im just usin epsxe for ps1 games atm....

I followed this guide, and it works perfectly. My only problem is that when I switch the discs, it's spinning too fast, and it ends up making a loud whirring sound when I put in the second disc. Does anyone know a good way to make the damage to the spinner minimal?

@Lokicifer Put your finger through the hole in the disk to stop the spinner before you put the disk in fully. :)

i dont have to mod first my ps2 to play ps1 games...try it out.....

1.put your ps1 game

2.do two soft resets(when it is green and turn again into no blink and press it again)

3. and there you go!

as simple as that!try this in your slim ps2...thumbs up if it works

Does this trick only work on PS1 back-ups? If so, it's pretty useless today ain't it? Most computers now can handle a PS1 emulator no problem, which is preferable and a whole lot more convenient.

If you do it cleanly enough you can shut the disc tray and then your lazer wont strain when your playing standard psx discs

Hi just want to say that i did this about 3 years ago (maybe 2), however just about a year and a half my Ps2 Laser died and i was not able to play either original psx game or backed up ones....

however this trick does work but it WILL break your laser eventually.

Tip:

buy a modbo/matrix chip instead, it wont hurt your laser ( as much, donno really if it hurt at all, some claims that it does...)
