  • Ah, Vaughn appears again.

  • brilliantly written characters and amazing casting for the bad guys. Simmerson, Hakeswell and Ducot. all absolute bastards, and you all wish for their demise.

  • i fuckin hate simmerson. He's just got one one of those faces you want to punch just for being there

  • I FER ONE LUV DE IRISH !

    FOOK ALL OO DUN´T LUV ´UM !

  • I love the little 25th rifles pace reference from that other episode where they hold up the front because they were falling behind.

  • 'FIIIIIIIIIIIIIIILTH!!'

  • Girdwood is so fucking funny

  • Funny, i always thought that Poirot was French?

  • By jove, that's a moustache and a half!

  • i like the attention to detail. the old doctor wearing outdated eighteenth century fashion

  • Sergeant Havercamp sounds like a Dalek.

  • @skegpit He sounded like a mix between a dalek and the blind orc commander who sounded like an elephant in LOTR:ROTK

  • My god. They are commanded by the gayest idiot in history.

  • 'Slow down, damn you!'

  • I thought Simmerson was killed in Sharpe's Sword.

  • No he's not, he's never dead. Rifles to me lads....

  • fucking hell som1 needs to kill that ideot who lost the kings colours

  • Stay away from her.... Avoid her like the plague and pox ridden whore that she is. It has the blood of a Simmerson in it......

  • is it me or does the recruiting sargent some like a Dialek?

  • Is it just me, or does the video picture quality suck?

  • I rather like seeing Sharpe playing the common soldier for a bit. It's a nice change of pace. And they talk so much about how he was raised from the ranks, so it's a good chance to see what he's like back down in the ranks.

  • SLOW DOWN DAMN YA!

  • Shame about the dog being shot...it looked a lovely dog

  • - Name filth!

    Filth Sir!

    - No not filth, your name!

    'O' Keith Sir!

    :D

  • "I'm sorry..."

"Sorry that you ran away or sorry that I found you?"

LoL Simmerson is an evil bastard, but he can be very witty on occasion.

  • Boy, Basic hasn't changed much in the last 200 years, has it?

  • It would be incredibly hard to look at all serious while wearing one of those caps.

And Simmerson keeps getting worse and worse every time he turns up- or maybe it's jsut that we're seeing more of him. High time he kicked the bucket, preferably at the end of Sharpe's sword.

  • @BaldGrace Actually, they redeem Simmerson in the last Sharpe movie, Sharpe's Peril.

  • 7:13 LOL

  • I would be too paranoid to go downtown and get drink in those days, in case some recruiting officer came in and slipped a king's shilling in your drink.

  • Fuck, how is Simmerson still alive?

  • "Slow down damn you!"

  • @SuperJogvan

I love how when the guys mock him about his slow pace he just yells "Piss thy britches" :D :D The insults back then were hilarious :)

  • Jane is a lessen to all men.

She may be wonderful today, but tomorrow she may want your heart on a plate.

    BEWARE THE LADIES!

  • 5:00 why didn't Simmerson shoot her there and then!! would have saved old Sharpe plenty of hastle!!!!

  • agreed. he should have chosen Anne, the classy whore with the heart of gold! Jane was damgaged goods, there was no saving her after her life with simmerson.

  • I cant believe Jane turns out to be Sharpes number one enemy!

  • "Form two RANKS"...it's bloody FILES they form!!! Jeez, scriptwriters :-)

  • 5:36 Could have been worse, he could have said on your knees like in Sharpe's Sword to the nun! lol

  • is that blond guy the same as perkins?

  • What is it the fat officer is yelling at Sharpe when he catches him talking?

  • @Jeterify "You knows better thans to talk in the ranks!!"

  • slow down damn you!!!

  • @bennythefox quicktime *american accent* rifle regiment has only two speeds, quicktime and dawdle

  • what is that rifleman march Sharpe and Harper do?

  • @bennythefox double time or quick march

  • I have to say, with those big poofy feathers on top, they look like giant q-tips.

  • what a spineless puss....like always. if you think about it though, it means the actor for simmerson is doing a good job.

  • Henry Simmerson is BUFFFF <3 <3 <3

  • poor dog :(. Thanks for uploading.

  • I'd like to see Simmerson once, just once, turn his sword on something other then a woman...

  • How come it stops at 2:23?

  • my gods i hate simmerson

  • If ever there was someone NOT built for the army, it's Marriott!

  • That old barstard who lost the colours...isn't he bloody well dead yet..?!

  • When had she met Sharpe before?

  • this video needs captions desperately

  • God the lt.colonel is ugly...

  • Is it just me, Or Are British Shaokoes Supposed to look Stupid and add height to midget fat officers? (save rifleman shaokoes)

  • Actually, the shaokoe is a great improvement over its predecessor, the three cornered har. Made of heavyily axed canvas, it keeps it shape in wet, keeps out rain, and offers some protection against cavalry sword cuts. - the height helps slow down any cavaly sabre cut. US infantry of the same period also wore it - when they could get it!

  • you are essentially 1/2 correct. Shakoes were indeed meant to make the soldier look good (i.e tall). but the british model (a belgic shako) was not impractical. sukneh's comment completes it from here.

  • So is Jane.

  • to all the folks who saw the magical mystery tour by the beatles--- notice any similarities as far as the nco goes? i do

  • he fukin shot that dog the basterd i just dont the way it yelps when the man picks it up

  • LOL Quick time. LOL

  • "Name filth!"..."Fith Sir!"

    lol ^^

  • major sharpe is dead again

  • its hercule poirot

  • PISS THY BRITCHES!!!

  • No, they shot that poor dog!

  • how mother fucking dare they >:(

  • When had sharpe met Jane previously?

Sir Henry comments on his 'death' to Jane as if she knows him. But how?

  • think it was in one of the books they didn't make a film for.

  • It was after Sharpe captured the French Eagle at Talavera. Jane's brother (a soldier), tried to take it from Sharpe, presumeably to take the glory, and tried to kill him. Sharpe won, and met Jane when he went back to England to tell her the news. He made up some bollocks about him being heroic.

I haven't read the actual book, but this is mentioned in other books.

  • " COME BACK YOU SILLY BUGGER! COME 'ERE!" hahahaha

  • do we ever see the chosen men again?

  • watch the rest and find out.

  • Yes, until the bitter end.

  • 4:43 "Piss thy breeches!".

  • "Sloow down you scum"

Doesn't he sound like a Daralek?

  • Yeah he does sound like a Daleck

  • Surest way to make the audience hate the villain is to have them kill a cute animal.

  • Looks as if they're commanded by Colonel Poirot.

  • @jbullesquire lol My first thought when I saw him. Can you imagine men maintaining themselves like this? Some wore a net over their mustaches at night. Like Poirot. I'd like to know what they were called. Anyone? Imagine a man fixing himself up like this before going out. Wow. I wonder what kind of grease they used? Men used Brylcreem when I was growing up. Elivs types especially. It has beeswax in it. / I appreciate the person who styled this actor's hair. It's a piece of art. :) Songs

  • I desperately want Simmerson to die painfully.

  • we all want Simmerson to die in a horroble and entertaing way

  • he does die eventually

  • thank god for that

  • It's strange to see recruitment techniques haven't changed much. Too bad they didn't have television then, they could have recruited a dozen regiments!

  • "slow down! slow down!..." XD

  • How do Sharpe and Jane know each other already? I don't remember them having met before (in the movies, at least).

  • Isn't she the girl in Sharpes Eagle?

  • I don't know; I don't remember her being in "Eagle" but it's always possible I missed something...

  • She's Gibbons little sister, I think in one of the books Sharpe meets her briefly, she's not in any of the tv series

  • Didn't he marry her and then she nicked his money with someone else?

  • I meant to say she wasn't in Eagle lol. But yeah she first appears in Regiment me thinks but not before that.

  • yeah, what a bitch huh? Sharp never seemed to learn a lesson throughout his many affairs - never left your woman alone for too long. Can't blame the man though, he loved soldiering too much...

  • "come back you silly bugger"

  • @1V4Victory1 "piss thy britches!!"

  • No, puppy! D:

Jaysus, he scared me when he said "Lynch". xD; I was all "O haylz naw", lmao.

  • LOL at 8:20
