  • Today's so called music is garbage! Long live the 80s!

  • @SLB1964EH Oh and we didn't have any stinkers in the 80s now did we? No one was harking after the 60's and 70's either were they? Got to love rose tinted hearing aids/specs.

Todays music isn't all garbage, there are some good singers and bands today along with some tripe. Pretty much the same as the 70's and 80's (60's was before my time).

Oh and by the way I was born in 1974, so the 80s were my childhood years as well as my teenage years.

  • Golliwogg APPROVES of this song.

  • my one of many first years evergreens songs, hail now

  • You know they (fuckers) wont win (against us).

  • Tearjerking an d most beautiful lyrics. The older stuff really was the best. Today's so called music is just about drugs, guns and humping. No imagination and no feelings. MUSIC IS DEAD.

  • SUPER CHEVERE....

  • Still a great song, even 23 years later. (I should know. I purchased this song on a 45 record back in May 1987.)

In fact, Neil Finn also had some great songs when he was with Split Enz (prior to forming Crowded House).

On another note, too bad Crowded House could not replicate the success of their 1986 self-titled debut albumwith their next three albums (as I have all four of them).

R.I.P. Paul Hester (the drummer, that is).

  • The golden years music. Ahhh... So melodic, soothing, relaxing, melancholic in a memorable kinda of sense. A time travel tune :-)

  • I miss the true talent the 80's had to offer. This crap nowadays is just that.. CRAP!

  • OMFG

  • Another jewel of the 80s. Simply awesome. I never get tired of listening at this song.

  • Oh my, just listen to those beautiful lyrics......so passionate so meaningful ''now i'm walking again to the beat of a drum and i'm poundng the steps to the door of your heart'' wow! makes me cry this song sometimes. I cannot believe whatpeople are listening to these days. How can ''i wanna take a ride on your disco stick'' compare to this beauty?? This world has gone mad!!!!!!

  • amazing how Australia brought forward MANY a great band ,especialy the 80-ties , INXS , MAN at WORK , SPLIT ENZ , ICEHOUSE etc ( THNX YOU AUSSIES!)...still a beauty thiz !

  • Heard this first time in a car pool on the way to work back in 1985. What a song. Stupid deejay would not give the song or artiste. Went to a record shop that evening and tried to hum melody line as best as I could. But then it was a tuneless caterwauling after so many hours. Few weeks later heard it again in a record shop. Told the sales person I wanted to purchase it. That was my introduction to Crowded House. Later found that some were alumni of Split Entz. Ah that figures.

  • love this song-reminds me of living in torrance, california in 1986-1987.

  • So romantic...

  • This is a song that makes you think. Now what you think about is totally up to you. Thank You.

  • This song has always beeon one of those "magic" songs to me, able to envoke the moment in time that i first heard it. For all the bull in the 80s, there was at least a lot of good music.

  • there is a very nice cover by sixpence none the richers.

  • BEAUTYFULL SONG

  • love love love this song

but its so hard to decide which crowded house song i like the best--a rare feat for most bands

  • Crowded House's song Don't Dream It's Over is still the best compared to Sixpence None The Richer's version. If you listen to Sixpence, Crowded house version's rules!!!

  • I like both versions.

  • @JGT30

    What made you say that?

  • What's it with the scenes with the plate breaking?Just wondering. Thank You.

  • you will never understand the '80's unless you lived it young one.

  • I'll have you know, CrazyG20 I was born in 1985. Wish I was born sooner. Thank You.

  • thank YOU for reiterating my point. you were too young:P
