you dont need to gun it at all you just need to know wat your doing and have good balance use the clutch to ur advantage and you cld have the damn thing on the back wheels all day goin like 2mph. and i mean all day!. unless you lock up the engin from all ur oil flowing to the back of the engine!

You can't.

To wheelie a YFZ450 you need the engine to suddenly rev (trust me it has wicked power when the revs hit the sweet spot.), and in order to do that you have to slam the throttle to the max and transfer your weight back. The engine will just stall because of the shitty carburetor... so yeah, but it will easily raise the front wheels under high acceleration, but only in first gear, and you can shift up and keep going. In fourth gear the front wheels will hit ground.

I don't know, but oil changes are every 30 to 40 hours and the first oil change is due once you reach your first 10 hours. Although tolerances have been carefully engineered and these bikes don't need much breaking in... I wouldn't know about valves. I'll tell you this much, the carburetor is crap on this quad, I'm going to have to buy an accelerator pump and the needle jet kit to keep it from stalling when throttling it.

not high maintenance, but all 450s you want to keep up on. check valves 2 or 3 times a year for optimal performance

I check them myself, but a local shop around here charges 175-200. find a local guy to do them or attempt it yourself I say, a manual usually gives pretty good information. my local dealer wants around 300-350. dealers are nuts.

Hey yea I have a question my yfz 450 has a major problem you crank it up and it idles fine but if you try to just give it more than a quarter throttle it dies you crank it back up and try to take off it dies it isn't even ridable does anyone know what could be wrong with it?

well you have a cluth you have to hold it in slowly release it while you give it gas. It will stall out on you if you let go of the cluth to fast or to slow you got to be perfect. Happen when i first got my dirtbike

just clutch...witch means grab the clucth...rev up and dump the clutch...but keep your foot on the back brakes and 1 or 2 fingers still on the clutch...feather it when your hit the brake to keeps the bike from stalling and give the bike more gas when the front begins to fall....i take time to get good at it....just remeber the back brake is most important

@lancer7610 if you need to grab the clutch to wheelie you need a more powerfull quad, to pop a wheelie you should just have to gun and at the same time just give a litle yank on the handlebars, i have a 440ex for now and in third i just give a little jerk on the handlebars and gun it and it comes right up
