i,ve just heard RIP, ithe 1st of many concerts i went was at brixton acadamy, head lineing was RUN DMC, PUBLIC ENEMY, and DEREK B, i still have the ticket stub, october 1988, i remember his was WICKED!!!

Bullet From A Gun was the second hiphop album I ever bought - I still have it, though it's very worn out through being played over and over!

RIP Derek and thanks for everything you did for British hiphop. True groundbreaker.

As well as his album Bullet From A Gun, this was on Now 12 (if u can find a copy). Get Down, an earlier Derek B single, was on 'Hip Hop & Rapping In The House' which was a pretty big selling compilation of the time
