Dude there is an iPhone app for just about all those things u just went over. For example: you can google from the main pages of ur iPhone if u download the google mobile app and u can also just swipe sideways from the home screen to search everything on your iPhone.

Uh, just a little FYI. Mac OS X is Unix based, just as iPhone OS 3.0 is.

Anyways, the Pre is a piece of garbage. I took mine back because of the overall cheap feel, and Sprint's network is horrible in my city. I can't get service at my home, and it would just barely hang on to the Sprint network (1x at 1 bar) instead of switching to Verizon. The WebOS is nice, but the lack of apps sucks. I'll take my iPhone and GSM any day of Sprint CDMA service.

if you jailbreak you can get the multitasking and shortcuts bar, virtual keyboard is better because if something is wrong with it that everyone hates, apple can change it. iphone does the contacts thing as well as mobileme and .mac, same with calendars. get the google app and do the last thing you said. iPhone is better and will continue to get better.

I have had the Pre since it was released and havent had one dropped call. (Orange County, CA) Also, The OS is going to be easier for developers to design apps for the Pre. I dont think anyone with an iphone is going to jump ship for the Pre. Unless they want to save alot of money and have better coverage and call quality. But im not leaving the Pre to get an Iphone either.

I love this phone!!!! It doesnt have all the apps that the Iphone has but I am saving "HUNDREDS" of dollars a year on Sprint's network and I have much better coverage. The Iphone is a cool toy but everytime I talk to someone on it they are more than likely to have a dropped call.

the I phone may have beat many of the phones on the market as far as sales go but that dose not mean it was the best smart phone. It just means that it was very attractive like the Motorola Razor. The old Palm OS Treo still has more applications and a keyboard.

And as much as I like the look of the I phone I still find it lacks the ease of use & battery life I have grown accustom to.

As long as Apple allows easy application compatibility of its firmware for publishers, the availability of extremely diverse applications that can do just about anything, are going to beat any other smartphone. yeah the pre, for reasons listed throughout this video and pages of comments beats the iphone anyday. In America, ATT sucks they have terrible service so Sprint runs circles around them as far as networking goes. The pre has EVERYTHING that the iphone has except tens of thousands of apps, which most people don't realize aren't neccesary for phone funct. The hands down best feature of the Pre is multi-tasking/functioning capabilities.The 8G will keep it up &running just fine against this 'iphone'

My only qualms with the pre is that keyboard, its more or less a love it or hate it type thing, i prefer touch typing than hard keys.

The pre is a good phone but the iphone had a huge head start over the pre. The app store now has over 30,000 apps and 3.0 and an updated iphone model are coming out in June. It would be hard for it to catch up especially since the pre and most touchscreen phones were designed with the iphone in mind.

i think palm pre is almost perfect and an excellent design. But why with sprint and keyboard? Iphone killer? maybe... If they came up with a touch screen keyboad and with ATT i might consider. Iphone might not be perfect but it's easy to use. Plus the 3.0 firmware is coming soon this summer (copy & paste, txt forwarding, landscape, bluetooth stereo, etc...). Apple, it's about time.

You either don't live in the UK or know any of my friends who go out a lot and prefer to use their camera's on their phones. My friend has a Sony Ericsson C905 and it can more then easily rival a compact camera so what you say is wrong from the proof I've seen. A phone camera can replace a dedicated compact camera, especially on nights out around the town.

And the Pre is waaaayyyyyy better then the iPhone any day.
