There are a lot more options now, I still think these Core series processors are amazing. Id go lower on processor since you can OC them pretty easily and they run cool, so you can get a lot of of them.I have mine OC'd to 3.2ghz on my i7, it runs great, no issues yet.

I have had this one since this model came out and it still works like a charm everytime and is used heavily daily and is overclocked. you should be fine, they are good computers.

@angelheart789456 5870 is really good, most definitely fast enough. but if you want to get a 480, you might as well get two gtx460's in SLI. its cheaper, cooler, quieter, and outperforms the 480.

Everything I got is still running great, I went with the single card that way instead of ( at the time ) getting dual 4870s because I wanted the second slot open so I could get another 5870 and run them in Crossfire, also this MOBO supports 24gb of ram, so I will soon get another 5870 and double the ram to 12gb. and all of it will cost like 400 bucks and itll be back up to being one of the faster computers. I still love it.

i have this computer im even on it right now!!! this thing is fricking awesome! although its not as souped as yours is mate. i have an i5 Quade 2.66ghz with Dual Layer 6gb memory and the standard 500gb HD. this computer can handle anything i chuck at it.

Awesome setup I ordered an aurora thats estimated to arrive mid march. I say mid because it has been delayed once already. The specs are the same except I got a 5970, already had the speakers(which are insane),and have a gateway 24" When you're not gaming you should watch The incredible Hulk(or any THX movie) on Blu Ray. It looks amazing and with those speakers sounds "Incredible"

Thanks, I watch a lot of blu-rays on the computer when my gf uses the TV. Ive got a 120hz 1080p 46" Samsung and Bose setup on the other side of the room, but when its taken. I the computer is a great substitute. It looks and sounds great. Im very happy with it. You will love it when you get yours.

The 1200w Dell Power supply will fit, but the power supply is supposedly specially wired, so I dont know how easily you could replace it, and being a microATX case, I dont know if the larger 5970 cards would fit or not.

You could push them as far as they allow very easily, I have a 5870 which is the single gpu version of 5970 and the same processor Oc'd to 3.33ghz, and it would destroy those games, or really most games. If thats all your going to play its probably overkill or at least its going to give you a lot extra in case you want to play something more taxing on the computer.

@Amplifyurlife 7,200 is still perfect for games. You dont really need a 10,000 rpm hdd and the hdd cappacity really does not matter for speed, it is just how much you want to store on the drive

Thanks for all the comments, I just got back to this video, and I have Overclocked the System since then and am now running 3.3ghz and faster ram. It is much quicker. Im impressed with this system quite a bit. Let me know if anyone has any questions. As soon as I get a new HD cam, I will get some new videos.

GTX260 isn't THE best card and yes, the HD 5870 is better, but the 260 is still a high end gaming card and (in SLI) will run anything on max settings with PhysX enabled (I just wish more games would support PhysX). The ATI card is DX11 but doesn't have PhysX (duh). If you have a choise, go for the ATI card but the GTX260 isn't bad AT ALL.

Yes, it can play Left 4 dead 2, I have the demo on here and it plays at over 150 fps. Its been good to me so far, just got the DIRT 2 Demo, and can run it with everything on ultra in 1920x1080 w/ 4x AA with DX11 at an average of 60fps according to the benchmarking software built into the demo.

So it def. works on all games out and all games coming soon with dx9, 10, and 11.

I paid 2k for the entire setup, but that was after shipping and tax and the monitor which was 350. So it wasnt bad

It runs games great, I can play any game that I can get my hands on maxed out settings at 2048x1152 including Crysis ( well, I play with 2x AA on that game, because its so poorly optimized and doesnt make a visual difference above 2x on Crysis ) but you get the point, it will play anything, I play Call Of Jaurez 2, Modern Warfare 2, Borderlands, Dragon Age, and NFS Shift currently and everything is maxed and well above 60 frames, the 5870 is def. a beast.

The Aurora does not have a backlit keyboard, the TACT X stuff is backlit but only comes with the ALX system, which is not worth the extra money to me, but may be importaint if your budget allows.

You can upgrade the Tact X with the regular Aurora though, which would be a good upgrade, im getting the KB and mouse from the old lady as a christmas gift I hope, but I was impressed with the quality of the stock kb and mouse. Its pretty nice, just not backlit

you can customize the tact x keyboard to any color you want. everything is lit. but if you're going for a slick and good performing keyboard look no further then the razer lycosa.

Actually its the LCLC system from ASETEK. So its sealed and recycles itself and never needs replaced, I dont know if its as effective as having tanks and tubes everywhere, but this just goes from the Radiator to the copper heatsink on the processor and back.

Yeah, there is a program called AlienFX and you can customize all the zones and everything, and Thermal controls to control the fans and temps. Its a nice touch to make sure everything is right

It came with Vista 64-bit installed, There was a coupon for Windows 7 Home Premium in the back of the book for the computer, I filled it out and shipped the next day, I cant wait to see how much better it runs with a decent OS

Thats exactly my thoughts, I went midrange, because the extra money wasnt much of a gain, and so I think this setup was best bang for buck, and I can always add a 2nd 5870 when its not enough, so there is room to expand, also it supports 12gb of 1600 ram, so I can essentially double it down the road when parts get cheaper and this doesnt cut it anymore.

Can you make another video, that shows it in action? Would be interesting, how loud the PC works during gaming. Does the front panel move down automaticly by pressing a button like the one of the area 51 alx?

I will make another video in the next day or so with the pc in action. unfortunately the lighting sucks in this room, but ill see what I can do. Also, the front panel is mechanical, it moves much like a CD tray. Also, the computer is fairly quiet, there are several fans, but they run around 30% according to the thermal controls software, so its not loud at all except for startup where all fans are on for a minute or two.
