@candy27cgc I used the official Socom USB headsets, but I've heard that any USB headset will work. I can't confirm or deny that though, because I just used the ones provided with Socom. They also work on my PC.

@jimmyelmer7 You need to set up your PS2's connection using the online Startup Disk. If you don't have the disk, a lot of PS2 online games themselves have the startup utility on the game disk. Unfortunately Big Red One doesn't have the startup utility, but the original (Finest Hour) does as do a number of other games.

If you got a fat ps2 u need a Ethernet adapter which you can buy online, if you got slim ps2 then just plug the Ethernet (usually blue) cable to the Ethernet port on the back of the ps2, also if you don't have a network configuration file on your memory card then you need to make one most games has the start up disk in with the game but some don't be aware of that

I believe that it's online miltiplayer only. If you're looking for a WWII FPS with split screen on the PS2, Medal of Honor Rising Sun has split screen. It's online servers have been taken down, but you can still play local, and even lan multiplayer.

For other FPS with split screen Timesplitters is king IMO. Cold Winter also has a good offline MP too with bots. So does Red Faction and Red Faction 2.

Also look into Battlefield 2, Star Wars Battlefront 1&2, Socom series, and Killzone.

The Killzone players are explosives whores, so use that one as a last resort. It's online can be fun, but the other players ruin it most of the time.

heres a tip for when your in buildings: crouch so you can creep around that way you make no noise and you can hear footsteps of enemy soldiers which helps cos then you know there coming

It happens to me a lot too. I'm not sure what the problem is. Try hosting your own games from now on to see if people can connect to your connection.

I'm not sure if it has to do with my connection, or the host's connection, but there are only a certain number of games I can join too.

It could also be Gamespy. They probably haven't done maintenance on the servers in year, because they don't care about them.

I'm not sure. I get that a lot too on the occasions that I play. It's probably the host's connection, or yours. I guess instead try hosting your own game and have people come in.
