  • @odiumimbues Pennyroyal is good for the lungs... must be why the vocals are so good.

  • All I know is, this is one of the greatest songs ever.

  • haaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • I have pennyroyal tea in my cupboard :)

  • Isnt pennyroyal tea an abortifacient?

  • @zomgoodnessih8u It is actually.

  • @ZeldaFoxEars Thats weird.

  • @zomgoodnessih8u Why? They used it in the olden days. (Wow, I used such a childish expression)

  • @ZeldaFoxEars Hes drinking abortion tea O.O

  • @zomgoodnessih8u Um, well I think it's more of a metaphor. If you think about it a year before In Utero came out, he has his daughter...if you think about it, it starts to make sense.

  • @ZeldaFoxEars oh yeah...

  • most days i listen to pearl jam, nirvana, soundgarden or audioslave... if none of those bands were ever around i dont know what i'd do

  • Omg im so standing in the mirror with my strat singing this song xDDDDDD

  • I'm at school, listening to this with a broken headphone. I hear this without vocals but it's still pretty good :D:D:D:D

  • you people saying how the nineties were style over substance are dead wrong. since the music industry was created there are two types of performers, pop sellouts and real bands. both have always been present in every decade and it's up to the listener to decide what road to follow, or both. The lyrics meant more to you back then perhaps because you were 15 and angsty and the singer was singing right to you in your room and you just knew they felt your pain.

  • Nirvana will ever be the best

  • I would like to have a bar call Pennyroyal Tea

  • @juandussan : Nah, make it a coffee house. lol

  • @nirvanafan91ify thats 4

  • @KoRncoba lol

  • I loooove his voice at the end. :P

  • love this album more then any other they had

well maybe unpluggled too that was a great one.

    thnx for the post

  • My favorite Nirvana song.

  • Am I the only one that thinks this song might be based on Ampethamine addiction? It describes my bout with it perfectly, from the antiacids I use to take to increase the bioavailability of the drug, the thin-blooded, weak, anemic feeling after a long binge, and me continueing to dig deeper into my addiction, although I past the point where I knew they weren't working, but I took them because I wanted to believe otherwise. sippin' on Pennyroyal tea

  • @DirtandFirefly So true, so true

  • @DirtandFirefly yeah, i just noticed that

  • I heard the conspiracy theory about Kurt's spine and how his guitar weight killed him . crazy shit

  • @Sheenious : it was a plot set in motion by Mickey Mouse and Space Lizards. :P

  • @Nagneto sound credible brah

  • @Sheenious lemme guess... Cracked.com?

  • @AlexzanderTwizzler nice 1 sherlock but cool story brah

  • @Sheenious In "About a Son" Kurt's being interviewed and he talks about how he played so much guitar when he was a kid, the weight of the guitar on his spine actually gave him scoliosis. That may have lead to his stomach problems too, i dunno.

  • @shayaan2354 da sucks

  • @shayaan2354 kurt never had scoliosis

  • @TakeyoLifebitch Watch Kurt Cobain: About a Son. He admits it himself

  • @shayaan2354 iv seen the movie 20 times man..kurt liked to play with his words a little. the doctors said he didnt. i forgot what hey said the problem was, ill have to read into it. he didnt have it though, he never had to wear any kinda brace or anythin

  • @johnwaynegacy94 Then tell me what music you do like?

  • @johnwaynegacy94

You actually searched this out just so you could badmouth it? attention seeking troll alert, so utterly tragic.

  • @johnwaynegacy94 Wow you're so cool to make a video just to troll people, and you censor yourself too! Wow i want to be just like you someday

  • @johnwaynegacy94 John Wayne suck fat cock pilgrims.

    Go troll somewhere else.

  • Wanna knock tang tang

  • I have to wonder what Kurt would have to say about music and musicians nowadays.

  • @913bungles he would probaly say things like its not worth the time to listen to this modern music and i regret going into music seeing what it is now(2011)

  • @913bungles "Which music ?" He would say.

  • 3 people wish they had Pennyroyal Tea.

  • @nzwwefan Poor.

  • @jimtheejim Yeah I know. :P

  • when i listen to this song i can t help imagine what would have become of this guy if he hadn t had all these stomach pains and wasn t suffering all the time at the end of his life

  • @cocojackson75 same here

  • BEST SONG EVA. END OF

  • i love this song <3. Kurt <3333333333333333333333333333

  • @InfamousGroundhog thumbs up if you noticed you're on a computer

  • @InfamousGroundhog hedoesthatisallofhissongs!!!

  • @InfamousGroundhog He coughs a lot :-)

  • @Time2SaddleUp Coughed**

  • @InfamousGroundhog thumbs up if you noticed you were on a computer.

  • @InfamousGroundhog clearing his voice i think so

  • @InfamousGroundhog You'd have to have pretty shitty hearing not to hear that but he's clearing his voice, not coughing.

  • Genius, pure genius.

I'm 44, and Kurt was our Elvis.

  • LOVE U MOM AND MY 5 BROS .... I CAN ONLY WISH YOU ALL HAD A CHANCE .. CANT EVEN IMAGINE WHAT YOU HAD TO GO THROUGH..... USAD ? ME 2 !!

  • These days bands bend to meet the mainstream. Back then the mainstream bent to meet Nirvana.

  • @InaGameComa Great fucking comment bro...so true

  • @InaGameComa its not just bands its rappers, producers , djs, etc. music aint the same anymore everythings watered down these days

  • @InaGameComa omg stfu thats all you ever hear on rock videos rap videos and so on no1 makes anyone listen 2 mainstream stuff so stop moaning n listen 2 the music

  • @weedpussymoney321 You're screen name is weedpussymoney... so you're already done.

  • @InaGameComa i put it as a joke idiot i listen 2 allsorts have a flick through my history if your that sad! just listen 2 the music rather than say the same thing on every vid..

  • @InaGameComa that logic is flawed...

  • @White4799 If I do say so myself, my comment may be the most flawless piece of logic ever to be offered by a human mind.

  • @InaGameComa id say nirvana reinvented what it takes to be "mainstream" as you put it, but in reality there is no such thing as "mainstream" all music is different in one way or another, to try to group up whats normal in music is almost impossible.

  • @TheBurnedOut Actually, grouping up what's normal and mainstream in music is ungodly easy

  • @InaGameComa Yea, sadly today mainstream rock is all style over substance! More concerned about how their hair looks then the crappy pop music they vomit out. The late 80s and 90s were an amazing time for alternative bands. Sonic youth,Butthole surfers, Dinosaur jr and yes Nirvana! All were given a golden opportunity to speak to the masses and change the course of music for a very brief but radical moment is musics history. We need another band like Nirvana to show us the way again!

  • @pennyroyaltea89 if you really think there isn't any good alternative music around today, you're probably deaf

  • @OpalAlex please prove me wrong! play me something contemporary that will stand up next to nirvana, smashing pumpkins, soundgarden, alternative rock just isn't the same any more. i'm not saying there isn't still great music. i dig almost all genres. but really there is nothing quite like what we had in the early 90s. that was a musical revolution.

  • @pennyroyaltea89 I agree... Let's be honest Nirvana were lightyears ahead of their time. I don't think there will be anything close to their innovation and originality.

  • @InaGameComa no, there were shitty bands then too. we tend to idealize the past but you know, people from the sixties say the nineties were pure babyshit. it's just opinion!

  • @shiprek2011

Actually it's not opinion. Saying it's relative is just a cop out and a denial of the cold hard fact that music is devolving and will continue to do so until cultural intervention occurs, which is highly unlikely. The point is that, while, yes, Nirvana is good compared to today, it's really nothing in the face of ages past. Just compare how much talent is involved with actually PLAYING the song. I learned this one in 2 minutes.. it took me a solid month to learn a Hendrix song..

  • @RenegadePhilosopher just because something is more complicated dosent mean its better or it has more passion.

  • @1985cactus

You're right. Death Metal is fairly complicated but it is utterly distasteful unless you have half a brain. Although, from diversity, intricacy, and subtlety we arrive at beauty. So when Jimi plays variously divers familial chords with embellishments and impromptu octaves/solos and bass/stray notes thrown into perfection, all the while singing, that is necessarily more beauteous than Kurt's strumming. I love both, but one is definitely mo betta den da udder.

  • @RenegadePhilosopher The very last part succeeded in making you sound significantly less pretentious, but you still remain so. Death Metal utterly distasteful? I understand that's your opinion, but to say someone who likes it does not have intelligence is preposterous. I love death metal, a lot of metal really, but Nirvana has been my favorite for years, and otherwise I have eclectic tastes. And putting modesty aside, I'm pretty damn intelligent.

  • @RenegadePhilosopher Damn, I've been listening good death metal for the past three years and I never knew I was a retard., might as well type broken english.

  • I think that's the song about Kurt's feelings while writing this album. I mean, this describes them best

  • @TartuRockFanNr1 You're right. I love his singing on this great track that should have been released as a single. He sounds jaded and resigned.

  • so i looked up what utero means, uterus in italian :D

  • Distill the life that's inside of me - abortion derp derp derp.

  • Its smart that Pennyroyal tea is on this album. In Utero (uterus) is the womb where the baby is born AND like someone said Pennyroyal is a poisonous plant that is used to make tea which is made to self-induce abortion. Pretty ironic.

  • Best Nirvana's song

  • This song has some very real lyrics...

  • I'm so tired I can't sleep.

  • that cough in the beginning is my favorite

  • It took until one moment ago to realize this is the best song ever!!!

  • Beautiful.

  • GREAT!!!

  • see i was told this song is about this "seal" in which a guy on youtube breaks down to a T. look it up

  • This song is perfect drunk listening, y'know that stage where you're REALLY drunk and just fall into a massive fit of depression. I was like that last night, I put this song on and it just fit perfectly

  • @broomeydbr9 I need to try that!

  • @broomeydbr9 I know the feeling well.

  • @broomeydbr9 I consider it to be the best break up song.

  • @broomeydbr9 That's how it was for me one day. Put on this song and laid my head back and closed my eyes...

  • i think this song is about kurts stomach problems..and i guess about how he masks the pain with heroin

  • this song makes me wanna make a movie where in the ending scene the main characyer dies in an ironic way saying something like ''life is funny until u realize the joke was on you'' then this song plays and the credits role... and i will get an award for best soundtrack

  • who are the two people without taste who hit dislike?

  • I know what I'm typing is a cliche - but this song got me through some tough times.

  • great cover of this from my son....channel name is primussux...lots of other great stuff too...covers and originals thanx:)

  • @luvm1chael please adopt me

  • to people havent had pennyroyal tea

  • @MrNirvana1999 it's two, but yeah

  • @9501dannyboy LOL WHAT !

  • As much as I still have a soft spot for grunge, the music that was my gateway into the world of music, the fans of Nirvana will always turn me off from the music when they make ignorant comments like, "OMG BEST SOLO EVER SO TECHNICAL" and whatnot. Nonetheless, I always feel back at my childhood when I hear good ol' Nirvana.

  • i played this song for my mum and she started crying

  • @jordidwdw probably because its a song about abortion...

  • @DazedSpy2 fuck you :)

  • @DazedSpy2 ...this song is about depression

  • @BlindMelon1993 Peeny Royal Tea was used way back when to induce abortions (if you don't believe me, look it up) but you're right though, this song is about depression too. Kurt hated himself towrd the end of his life because he didn't enjoy things anymore, and felt too much for an unfeeling world/ no-one listened to his cries for help until it was too late. Such is fate. R.I.P. Kurt Cobain
