@Bluefirefoley I certainly feel that way too. It was quite a different time then when we still thought that way. The cartoons and westerns I use to see growing up certainly gave me a lot of wrong impressions of what Native Americans were by the time I learned about them in school.
"Cpl.Tennessee Tuxedo"should have had more soliders watching the plains at the bottom of the outpost tower..so he could the tribes going for a sneak attack..sadly,he failed again..but only in his dream.
You also have to remember that life in the Wild West was not what people imagine it to be today; stories of life there being highly fictionalized by the literature and motion-picture industries. No way! The Wild West was really just that: wild, and often completely lawless -- fights and shoot-outs often breaking out over money; and angry Indians attacking because of the destruction of their land and buffalo hunting. Also, the West was not clean; and so illness and death rates were very high.

I love Tenessee Tuxedo, but as a culturally involved Muscogee/Creek, I hate it when we're the bad guys in these old cartoons!!!
