You shouldn't have been spamming scorch like that. You may have been wanting to show more Hot Streak procs, but your dps will be lower than if you spam Fireball after 5x Scorch has been built. (of course I hope you're keeping LB up as well)

ok, unless your kiteing you should never spam icelance... and when your kiteing you still nead to use fire blast and cone of cold whenever possible, but yeah, this nurf to deep freeze really makes me mad.. however im still going full frost in wotlk for both pvp and pve. why? because its fun. and besides you can still nova > frostbolt > deep freeze > frostbolt > icelance > pet nova > frostbolt > icelance > cold snap > rinse repeat feeling free to throw in fireball on brainfreeze + FoF

Its Hot Streak[as it says before he starts] 3/3 After doing 2 crits with fireball, scorch or frostfire bolt you have a 100% chance to cast pyroblast instant in the next 10 secs.

Brain freeze, a 3 point talent in the frost tree gives you an instant cast, no mana fireball. This has a 15 % chance to activate every time you cast a frost spell, or it could be any spell not sure on that part. But it is an incredible ability.

I agree. I wonder how much that 15% is going to proc though. Freeze enemy, Deep Freeze+Frostbolt+Ice Lance crits then add Fireball...that's at least 12k right? Then again people will have like 25k or more in the expansion so that's half of their health.

But as Deep Freeze is instant, wouldn't it be possible to cast Frostbolt+Deep Freeze, like you do with Ice Lance? I mean, the ice doesnt break before the frostbolt reaches the target, which would result in:

Freeze enemy, Frostbolt+Deep Freeze, Frostbolt+Ice Lance, and then a possible fireball? If it works it would be more like at least 15-16k.

The last time I checked it was a 1.5 sec cast guess they changed it, anyways, the problem with using a frostbolt as the start is because it might break the frozen condition If you fire it first then deep freeze IMMEDIATELY afterward the frostbolt will hit after the enemy is stunned and probably break the frozen condition resulting in less crits unless they make the frozen condition last throughout all of these spells I doubt you'd be able to pull off your complete combo of crits nice thought tho

15% will proc ALOT lol. Especially with a chance of it happening every time you cast a frost spell. And 25k health? Thats way too much I think. Regular players won't have that much in PvP, only the toughest of tanks.

just as is said it, the new beta push (8962) changed FoF: "Fingers of Frost: Now a 7/15% chance to proc from your chill effects. Still 2 charges/15 secs." this means it won't proc off ice lance anymore. rejoice. ;-)

Nope, that is ignite, it is triggered by having critical hits with firespells (40% of your critical dmg ticks 2 times over 4 seconds), the damage stacks when you have multiple criticals, so the 3k was the total ignite dmg from all his crits (6k total).

quit complaining about mages, they're squishy enough as it is. Besides EVERYONE gets a skill to make them even more powerful: Warlocks=Haunt, Demon Form (Massive aoe dmg), warriors=Bladestorm, Titan's Grip (2H weps)

shaman=Thunderstorm, Ghost Wolves

spriest=90% dmg reduction and 30% of mana and health restored

Good thing they took out cripple or warlocks would use that spell and curse of exhaustion to make everything they faced in pvp immobile until they shadowbolt/DoT that person to death

Indeed, in tbc, the only thing my mage was actually good at in pvp was to annoy people with freezes and slows before he got squashed. Sure while leveling mages rocked pretty hard in pvp, but at 70, with all the resilience gear people had, we were pretty gimped. Maybe its time now for a little revenge ehh :p

its not frost talents.. Hot streak has been changed ; whereas before if you scored 3 critical hits in a row you had 100% chance to crit on your next spell. Hot streak now occurs when you score 2 critical hits with scorch, fireball or frostfire bolt and gives you an instant cast pyroblast.
