  • It is indeed lamentable that some viewers of Youtube do so with the intent to appoint self as some sort of music authority . The truth is that those persons are living meaningless existences. To prop up sagging egos and impart a sense of power they scour the Youtube for lowly newbies just getting started and assassinate them. This way their hitherto unknown screen names become known. They can't play themselves so they cut down others trying to do it. Pity the pipe organ scene.

  • You nasty mean critics is all that is wrong with the organ world. Rather than commend and encourage all you do is tear down and pillage by your evil words. Why don't you find another instrument to go into and rip apart?

  • @mrstevebournias Agreed. It has always amazed me how anonymity seems to stimulate nastiness. And organists seem to be especially critical. This ain't a seminar.

  • All you critics and your unsolicited advice:This kid plays well. probabaly better than any of you self-appointed judges. Have you ever been engaged to play in a venue of this magnitude?

  • @mrstevecbournias My sentiments, precisely. I put these performances on YouTube for folks' enjoyment -- not as a vehicle for erstwhile authorities to offer their critiques.

  • Points for clean playing. That said: Agogics and ends of phrases are WAY too excessive. Especially when in middle phrases of a variation on the first time around of a repeat. (eg the final variation). Too Wagnerian. Registration is also too 19th century for this music. Not the best use of an organ that size. Try again.

  • Some of his agogics at the ends of phrases are quite excessive, especially when it's the first time of a repeated phrase. A little too Wagnerian for my liking, ESPECIALLY in the last variation. Registration is also a little too 19th century. Try again.

  • Interesting musical decisions made, and all very valid. The performer had a clear picture of what he wanted and went for it.

  • Agree the registration isn't true to the French classical school, but the flutes on the first section work for me; the left hand is beautifully clear which isn't always the case on some performances. I would agree they are rather less satisfactory on the echo section

    Wolfy -

The original had no pedal part - these pieces were originally intended "pour 'lOrgue et le Clavecin"

  • Incorrect registration for this music.

  • The guy needs to learn to jump manuals more for this piece and number 2, last time I saw the music to this, there was music for the feet to this piece. Why did he not play them?

  • What. . .no cromorne on that thing?!

  • marvelous! one of my favorite pieces!
