@someonelseable that's what happens when a star collapses upon itself. The sudden inward pull of gravity is so powerful that it lets go of the nuclear fusion in a star of 3 solar masses or greater as the star's core (mostly iron by this point) suddenly collapses under it's own weight. The shockwave throws the remaining gasses being fused violently outward in all directions. We call this a supernova. The remaining Core is practically all neutrons and the implosion causes a very fast spin.
