I noticed that most of the states have almost the same unemployment rates they had in 1992, so this news isnt very significant. I looked up the unemployment rates in Florida and Michigan, now, and in 1992. both are pretty much the same, with a small 1% increase at the most.

Ok smart guy, let's look at how much the population as grown. The population in Michigan was 9,470,323 in 1992. The population in Michigan now is 10,003,422. That's 58,641 more people unemployed now. 58,641 is about half of 1% of the current population now (it's not even 1% of 10,003,422). As I said before, "with a small 1% increase at the most". I've nicknamed 2009 the year of decline, but it's really anyone's guess when the bottom drops out completely. Some are saying as early as this summer. The trouble is, the governments and central bankers of this world are running a shell game with smoke & mirrors - how long they can keep people asleep with the constant shuffling is beyond me. Hyperinflation could have set in last week after the stimulus passed. It's really anyone's guess, but sometime within the year seems a reasonable estimate.

US durable good exports are in minus territory, outstanding US debt now stands at more than the world's yearly GDP & jobless claims are at an all time high.
This doesn't sound like standard fare for a 'recession' to me.
