  • I'm playing this album almost non-stop at the moment - so glad I "found" it via YouTube, never really heard of it before. I prefer this to the surfer-song-period, actually, and I like it better than Pet Sounds. Maybe this is not a masterpiece, but I'm crazy about the atmosphere in these songs.

  • Ugh, this is after they started making hippie songs...

  • Can anyone help me pls? Who is depicted in the clouds on the imagery of this album? I can see from the sleeve notes that Chuck Ames, Tommy Steele & Brad Benedict were involved in the design, but it doesn't say who is shown. On the left it looks a little like Paul McCartney with weird hair, some of them resemble the Beach Boys but is it all made up of just Beach Boys..?

This album is beautiful and under appreciated in my humble opinion x

  • @WestLondonDITC

I can't prove this theory...But a friend of mine once told me the cover depicts people who have been "touring" beach boys over the years.(up to that point)

    Like...Daryl Dragon, Billy Hinsche, etc...

  • There's that Brian Wilson trademark-the piano doubling the bass guitar, just like on the Wild Honey album.

  • Carls guitar is not to be unnoticed in this song. such a cool and good track. why won't they play this stuff on the radio

  • ...seems that, when a man needs a woman, they make things like Wilson Phillips.

  • I like the change in tempo at 1:25

  • i like it too :)

  • @OmHaver Friends is one of the greatest albums ever.Takes me back to my childhood when i was buying anything to do with the beach boys.

  • @labency1 It's my favorite Beach Boys album after Pet Sounds (1966).

  • thanks again Brian

  • The "cheesy" organ solo sounds like it was recorded in an ice rink! This music is completely original and it sounds like nothing else. It's hard to believe it went virtually unnoticed when first released.

  • They're underrated, but for me are in the same level with The Beatles. Thanks foro your comment.

  • I am pretty sure this song was written when Brian's wife, Marilyn, was pregnant, back in 1968. Brian was anticipating the birth, and wrote a song about his wife giving birth to a son.

Instead, she gave birth to two girls! Funny...and cute:)

  • I think so. I love this song, it's beautiful, tender and funny. And i too love the album Friends, with their vibrations of peace, joy and healing. Just good vibrations ;)

  • Awesome Brian.
