As far as the baja ridgeline goes its class is the SCORE Stock Mini Class. The suspension was modified(King Racing Shocks), Hondata retuned the engine and driveline computers. VTM-4 was left stock. The only actual engine mod was air intake, headers and a straight through exhaust. Tires 265/70R17 All-Terrain T/As that measured 31.8 inches tall. The shift points in the Tranny were altered. 3rd Gear 100-105MPH@6300-6500RPM. All in all, no fancy pistons/rods/cams/cranks. Standard J35A7 250hp 248tq
Not to try and get you guys to dispel any closely guarded secrets, but reading below, you mention that that VTM was tuned. I know that Honda's VTM is fully disengaged at 19mph, along with the rear diff "lock" starts to slip at 6mph, if i recall correctly.
If you guys are running with the VTM and a rear diff "lock" system engaged at highers speeds, im assuming it wasn't modified (strengthened) to take the added abuse of higher speeds, shock loads, etc, in order to run in "stock"
@stifreak14 Variable Torque Management -4(4 wheel management) as defined in the owners manual states: VTM-4 distributes engine torque(power) to the appropriate drive axle depending on the available traction conditions. The system is completely automatic and does not require any driver interaction. Althought it also states: You may activate VTM-4 LOCK if you become stuck. VTM-4 LOCK is only available in 1st/2nd or Reverse. You actually have to shift down into 1st or 2nd not Drive.
@stifreak14 VTM-4 Lock automatically disengages after 18MPH(because if you were going 18mph you wouldn't be stuck anymore). The other function in the ridgeline that works in conjunction with VTM-4 is called VSA(Vehicle Stability Assist). VSA stabalizes the vehicle during cornering and also assists in maintaining traction while accelerating on loose or slippery surfaces. It does this by regulating the engine's output and selectively applying the brakes. VSA can be turned off.
lol - do you understand that some people have spent quite a bit of time talking to Gavin Skilton who is a member of the ROC and has been out to the meets. And as far as "Stock" goes you mean the class where ford substitutes the factory chassis for one made of chromoly and then calls everyone else out for cheating. The shocks are 1 offs not to long the stock unibody can't handle the stress so it only makes sense to attach it to the cage like any other competitor with half a brain. lulz @ u
@circuitsports Cage attaches to the factory strut tower in several places. The king struts attach to the strut tower and cage simultaneously. The original "floating" strut mount was revised in late 07, early 08 to strengthen the overall structure. The unibody rolled off the same assembly line and made out of the same material as every Ridgeline on the road today. CrMo destroys the sheet metal stamping dies, Honda would not use it. ECU, A/T, VSA and VTM tuning are not prohibited in class rules.
@idrinorbarsaku sorry but you need to check your own facts - the shocks aren't mounted to the uni body anymore there mounted to the full cage - much of what is factory Honda has been removed or replaced or dramatically reinforced. Also the exhaust manifold was a one off and so is the tuning neither can be purchased which also controls the vtm awd system and there is a couple of things there are different.
It is very capable stock and it is the most stock truck in its class but it's not stock.
That's a honda all the way, ck them out building it from start to finish, Why people hating on honda, they make one of the best dirt bikes out, even if they are using only the Shel of the truck its still a honda.
@Solumic no your right changing the suspension, drivetrain, engine, exaust, fuel delivery system and pulling out the interior for a new frame of steel tubing makes this a honda? You fucking dipshit this truck does not represent anything close to a ridgeline
@JeramyM506 Wow your fucking retarted. Sayin stuff you cant back up and know nothing about. When building this truck straight from the showroom floor they found the frame to be rigid enough to only have to put the roll bar in for safety. And of course they strip the interior! You dont need nice seats, carpet, a stereo etc for racing! Also the origional suspension must be retained as a rule. Only springs shocks and stuts can change. The engine is still 3.5 honda v6. Fuck tard! your ignorant!
@Solumic so your right then of course this is a ridgeline plus or minus 80k in parts dumbass, and i'm not saying it isn't the same block but this truck doesn't have 225hp anymore and most of its parts would be after market which gets back to my original point, this truck is not honda engineering and does not represent what you pick up at a dealership.... fucknuts
@JeramyM506 Look what you originally said you idiot. You said the "only" thing left Honda was the badge. But your wrong you fucking idiot it's a modified ridge line what do you think it fucking is? I'm done arguing with this fuck tard who doesn't even know where he is trying to go with this conversation.
still doesn't change the fact that its basically an AWD minivan on steroids

how does the power get to the rear wheels if its transverse?!
angrygunsmith 9 months ago
@angrygunsmith the transmission has an output shaft that goes to a rear differential same as any awd or 4wd vehicle

The honda Ridgeline comes stock at 250hp, not 225. Read you're specs.

Cool video! The engine screams, especially in VTEC around 6800 RPM and riding shotgun.

Love the sound and the look! I wish I could do my Ridgeline up like that!
