  • I rly don't know why people pay shits for gold...

  • look its a dick, (makes pac man sounds)

  • google takes MORE than 30 percent....!!!!

  • Apple already over prices EVERYTHING to begin with. I think that apple is made up of greedy bastards that are even more greedy than microshit, and that's not the only reason why I go for open source linux and android. I choose the open source life because it's free, not just free since I can't afford to support them yet, but free as in I can do ANYTHING I want with it, plus redistribute, as long as it is under the copyleft law (not sure if their is a space or not with left) but it's the best.

  • no more Steve jobs, delete this Video please

  • Yeah, only 30% for a good distribution platform is not a bad deal at all. Keep in mind that apple is over break-even so they are not **earning** anything, just losing on it. Apple **only** earns money on the devices they sell.

  • I think you need to reexplain this differently. I was very lost in understanding what you were trying to explain. It seems complicated even after watching it twice.... sigh.. maybe I'm just slow? :( But from what I gather, you're saying that when Apple brings in a new subscriber they get 30% of the subscription fee, but when the publisher brings in a subscriber outside of the app they keep 100% of the revenue and apple gets zero. This seems to be fair.

  • Well apple already requires a yearly license I believe that apple should receive no more for they do none of the work

  • ...and that's why I stick with open source!

  • Yeah, apple products are made in a suicide slave/factory I hope steve jobs burns in hell!

  • Ri.P

  • Ok could you just let me have sex with you at least once, lol...ok i'll stop now..

  • Yeah Droid, Screw Apple!

  • Apple....Yeah people who buy that overpriced stuff......Well ummm....You know where Im going with that.

  • @theavailablenamessuk lol..U read my mind

  • So is Steve Jobs proposing to take money from Verizon and AT&T as well? He should get off his high horse and stop acting like Apple products are the center of the computing universe.

  • So is Steve Jobs proposing to take money from Verizon and AT&T as well. He should get off his high horse and stop acting like Apple products are the center of the computing universe.

  • i think that if a person makes a idea it is theirs to do with as they see fit, and if "apple" d sides to make money off a other person idea that to me is steeling form the person that made app money if I where to make an app and get a lot of people to buy my app and i"HAVE" to give apple my 3% of my money that just messed up

  • Uhmm.... Could you repeat the question?

  • I want an Android hat!

  • Apple users don't care because Apple users believe that they are the only sentient beings in the universe, and the Steve Jobs is God. Look at someone like AppleSoldier here on Youtube, you can try try and try, explaining perfectly what your reasons and opinions are, showing all facts, and if it's even remotely negative towards Apple, they just cant except it.

    Fuck Apple.

  • @BlaMurda not all Apple users are like that.

  • a well apple users are used too overpriced things so it doesnt matter *cough cough android FTW cough*

  • I'm glad I don't do objective -c

  • I can let you know BELOW what I think.

  • Theres a bunch of reasons I don't buy apple producs. One of em is that apple shits in the hands of developers.

  • We love you Nix !!!! You are the best! Lets go on a dinner date some time! Filled with computer talk and video games :o) XOXOXO

  • Apple are a bunch of Nazi's. You get so much more freedom with android.

  • @badcoochie

Such outrageous comments are unwarranted, wonder why your comment isn't binned yet? By going by the same logic, should I call Google/Android are a bunch of Homos? So, mind your words.

  • @akula2shark I called Apple Nazi due to they're ironfisted approach to controlling content Under the guise of removing ‘overtly sexual content’ from the pages of it’s hallowed appstore. When a corporation that earns it’s way distributing content starts dictating content, the stench of facism is hard to ignore. Tomorrow they’ll start removing opinion that they don’t agree with. And soon, the world will be like a great big version of the appstore. Welcome to iWorld. Why are android homos?

  • @badcoochie

There's nothing wrong in removing 'overtly sexual content' because it protects the *users* so their corporate policies are fair enough to a level, mind you that every company has their own way! But, that doesn't make Apple a bunch of Nazis, and I strongly believe you've no idea about the Nazis. I didn't say literally Google/Andriod are Homos, just for the sake of the debate I tabled that counter. Now, don't label me as some Apple fanboy even though I use lot of their products.

  • @akula2shark One man's porn is another man's politics. When swimwear retailers get their apps pulled because they feature, shock horror, women in bikinis, something is wrong. Over 5000 apps were recently purged because they contained risqué content. When did apple become a bastion of moral integrity? Independent thought is the enemy. By encouraging people to ‘think differently’ they’re trying to prevent us all from doing just that.

  • @badcoochie

Regd. the first line: Isn't it true in most number of issues in most of the countries, including the US? Being am Employer, I'm personally against Porn, Gambling, and ALL 'misleading' content on the gadgets. My friend, 'think differently' practically meant for creativeness/ideas/innovation/simplicity and so on but companies should never use that as a *shied* to deliver harmful content which aims/targets/lures innocent children/teens/women into troubles. Isn't it fair enough?

  • @akula2shark I agree that there should be some censorship but Apple are taking things to extremist levels. According to Apple’s morality police, people selling swimwear is morally suspect while Playboy is not. Apple loves restricting the way you do things, whether it's on iOS or on Mac or on standard iPods. It's pretty sad when an expensive iPhone is unable to do things that my rather basic non-smartphone is very capable of doing. Apple are a very xenophobic company.

  • @badcoochie

You've a point about certain Apps but calling Apple as Nazis or Xenophobic for just dumping a few hundreds is far fetched, IMO. About Apple's restriction in their products is mostly pertained to their Hardware 'IP' which they closely guard it because they are a company who take pride in the Product Design and Quality. Two things I don't appreciate in Apple: Expensive accessories and Product service. Well, "Moral Policing" has more to do with sensation-obsessed 'yellow' media! :)

  • 30 percent is i think way too much apple did not make the program and didnt fund it then 30 percent is too much i think a fair amount would be 10 percent or less depending on the price of the application and the fact that they put all these rules and stipulations on it to let you develop under there platform.

  • I think it is business although it may not seem eight apple just wants money

  • One Subscriber more for Pac Man!

  • Just apple showing its greed once again. eventually he'll run that company out of business. give it time

  • @Be3ification eventually, people will get tired of apple. What may come sooner however, is apple muscling out their users with this kind of crap.

  • Is the intro made with Ubuntu?

  • I must have that hat. Please tell me where you got it.

  • Mannnn people watch you cause you're a hot redhead. As intruging as you are.

Perhaps you should do an experiment where you put a bucket on your head....wait a sec.

  • Apple was stolen from Open Source when it ripped off FreeBSD!

I know that legally it's ok since it BSD, but they are only taking money from people, and people like them.

If Open Source wasn't exist, I was a fan of M$ instead of them!

  • Apple has become the monster they were promising to destroy back in the late 80s.

  • ANDROID FTW !!!

  • I just cant wait for the humancentipad

  • how much would you sell your pacman bracelett for? $15 bucks?

  • Comment removed

  • HOLY SHIT! Where did you get that hat?

  • @ansolvera I too must have this hat

  • Why the fuck use apple...?And why should we actually care about this...go open...

Let them make money out of your stupidity or inabillity to purchase what you need instead of what you are offered..

  • The problem is that booth droid and iOS suck. Apple is closed source, only available with apple devices, and are utter control freaks. But so are google and a lot of the layer versions of android have late released source code, and the google store is crap with no quality control. Whatever happened to mobile ubuntu?

  • Microsoft does the exact same thing, I'm speaking mainly by their XNA Game Studio Program; but usually if there is a fee involve my belief (and ill say it again MY belief is that it causes the creator to make something better so that they won't really hurt as much (except for major companies like Netflix)

  • I got a real easy fix to this problem here folks. Don't use an apple product.

  • Watched this on my Droid. Have fun losing customers due to companies not working with u anymore apple!

  • All subscription based apps should just pull their apps. Once that happens, the minions of apple will start crying and get their turtle necks all wet. Screw apple and their socialist control of their people. Apple IS Big brother.

  • All subscription based apps should just pull their apps. Once that happens, the minions of apple will start crying and get their turtle necks all wet. Screw apple and their socialist control of their people. Apple IS Big brother.

  • Well these companies need to quickly fall in behind Honeycomb and show the world there are options... There are roughly 18 Million iPads in users hands and that is not insurmountable by any means!

  • All Netfilx has to do is take down the app for a week and Apple will get on they're knees and beg.

  • I think both Apple & developers both make money as much over head costs for the developer are reduced greatly. Why should not Apple make a little money off subscriptions as its put a lot of money into its own ecosystem. Third party companies are playing on the popularity of Apple only to lead a customer away to buy its subscriptions elsewhere. So I think this is perfectly fair.

  • I always told my friends Apple will be as evil as microsoft if Apple is big enough. They are just a business company and a company's only responsibility is to its share holder. If their product will kill 10 million people, but it is cheaper to pay for the law suite than record the product, they will let 10 million people die. Eve Apple said they won't do that, how about the next CEO?

  • @hungryhamsters Apple always was evil and dictatorial as hell. I had an Apple IIe a hundred years ago, and that was the first and last Apple product that I will ever own.

  • Apple Are Greedy Bastards... that is all.

They design good hardware but have a shitty O/S imho. Linux FTW

  • ahhh...

    bOOmbox nostalgia :-)

  • DROID FTW

  • Apple controls their pricing on all their products. This controls how much a 3rd party company selling their product makes in profit. This is legal.

Credit cards are not suppose to have different cost basis for buying things, but they still do.

Apple does NOT have the right to say you can not raise the price because it's specifically through us. The company is free to charge APPLE more money for it going through the app just because Apple is a dickish company.

I do hope you read this

  • DROID ROCKS

  • this is 100% acceptable of apple , they are bringing the customers to the apps and there device is the reason the users use the apps , apple should have done this ALONG time ago, just like a pyramid sceem if you make someone money you should be compensated with a percentage of profits.

  • I like this idea,.. in the sense that once again that crap like this from MS is opening the door for the open source community. There is a reason why the majority of servers use Linux OS systems. Why this isn't happening on cell phones already is ridiculous. Only thing that MS provides is something that works and has tech support. Where as Linux has no official tech support.

  • @spdfrkmr2 It actually does have tech support, depending on the vendor. Much better support, at that.

  • the new pixie app is so cute and never stops being that way.

  • Stuff like thi sis why I develop in Flash and couldn't give a rats ass about iUsers. I am sure there is money to be made but there is also money to be made in dealing drugs. That is something I won;t do along with living in countries where you pay +30% income tax (which is effectively what Apple is charging except they don't finance my highway or fire dept.). I am sure Apple will keep up the daylight robbery as long as they can. God bless'em.

  • I think you just become my number 1 internet role model!

  • Is this girl high doing these vids or what?

  • Love the Droid hat.

  • I am an amateur in this area. It's a decade ago when I - an amateur and a customer - decided to never go with apple because of its hostile behaviour.

If anybody dealing directly with apple uses 30% of their income now, it's their own fault.

  • Greedy Jobs.

  • lol and they'll pass the fees to the users.

  • Apple needs to get slapped with a antitrust law.

  • wow apple fucks over the developers again, what else is new

    Apple = Microsoft

I WANT YOUR FUCKING ANDROID CAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Stick with your Droid, Linux Kernel all the way!!!! :-D

  • Good I love to see Apple shoot themselves in the foot :) Google again appears to be the lesser of two evils. Is your greed starting to match your already over-bloated ego Stevie old boy. Apple user are unsympathetic to the developers because their a bunch of morons. Apple user = rube. Crash and burn Apple. You should have been done away with years ago. Good thing for you people seem to have gotten dumber in the last ten years.

  • I love to listen to what Nixie says, but for some reason I can never take my eyes of her boobies. She should have a t-shirt with an arrow pointing up, saying : my face is up here. :D

  • Thank God that Netflix chose Apples over Android...

  • What apple is doing is right? That's not a serious question.

  • this channel is perfect

    back to the topic..

i agree with jerry little mars. FUCK apple.. they make money every time you do anything on their phones...

they literally are destroying a market that has BARELY taken root!

    its time to go elsewhere

    ALL HAIL ANDRIOD!

and watch out for that psp phone... HELLZ YES!

    it'll also be andriod.

  • Meh, all the publisher needs to do is create a customized product for Apple distribution (ie. change one thing in the Apple version, no matter how small). Then anything they distribute thru other means can't be compared to their Apple-distributed product as they are different products ans thus cannot be limited by Apple's price-matching restrictions.

This Apple "problem" is easily evaded by anyone with a working brain.

  • This is great, because it really gives folks a choice:

Buy an over priced, under-engendered piece of shit which will burn out in a year or 2 from Apple... OR buy a unstable, unpopular patch laden piece of shit from Microsoft... OR buy a stable, but glitchy piece of shit which invades you privacy by monitoring all your wireless data from Google. It's good to have choices!!

  • tits

  • jeeze you have a huge rack. nice!

  • Welcome to the world of business. How much do you think people would make if Apple had not been around making iPhones? Boo hoo

  • apple = gay

  • Apple is a money-sucking monster that censors everything the way it wants and charges everything it wants. They make the rules because everyone is just bowing before them, saying "Yes, Master". It is time to boycott Apple.

  • 30% is a HUGE percentage. 3% is more reasonable and it's basically free money-- that 3% comes from allowing companies to use a thing that they have already been paid for. In principle, sure, but the amount is ten times what it has to be. That will scare away other developers just like you say.

  • Will they be PAYING a finders fee for a new CEO? Apparently the unions want Apple to show they are looking to the future if Steve's heath deteriorates and he can't be the figurehead any more - the ugly side of capitalism. It reminds be of Paul Allen's treatment when he got ill in the early days of Microsoft.

  • damn my hardrive is getting harder

    i like the dirty talk

  • It's not the 30% for Apple customers that bites. It's the fine print where Apple says publishers that do business with them can't charge less outside Apple's proprietary little universe. That means to recuperate costs of doing business with Apple, publishers have to hike up prices for ALL their customers, Macheads or not. It’s just another example of companies trying to control the pricing of content for which they do not own the copyright. Apple makes great products, but this is not cool.

  • Comment removed

  • It doesn't take long - there is always someone/something that puts their hand up and says, "I want some of that." Take out tax, running costs - 30% is quite substantial.

I'm pretty sure that Google charge a bit to have Droid Apps in the Android Marketplace. It's like making money from both sides of the fence.

Meanwhile, poor programmers are busting their gut.

Funny - an Android ad was showing during this clip - Lol.

  • Apple is a "for profit" enterprise.

I'm amazed at the number of people who don't see the defeat of Microsoft as the dawn of the Apple monopoly. The next "moral" tech company will have its own new flock of groupies pushing it to the top against that "evil apple company" and the cycle will repeat.

We put or faith in all the wrong places.

  • @m4xfl4xst4r

I must be living under a rock, because I haven't seen the defeat of Microsoft... Unless you're giving an "if; then" statement. America isn't as big as we'd like to think, that is all.

  • as always, better for apple

U pop on camra, no small feat

  • The way you jitter when you speak kind of creeps me out.

  • he's been talking to gates again.

  • Thanks Nixie for the info, you are the best!

  • G'Android! (Go + Android... it will catch on eventually)

  • Those guys never get enough, they are always asking for more.... So sad!

  • Haha, love the "DROID!" part!

  • P.S. Amazon takes 70% !!! and it also defines prices for you !!!!!

  • P.P.S. Oh, I'm sorry - it's 65% + delivery fee.

  • The information is pretty off the mark there Nixie. For something like Hulu and Netflix, they do not get affected by Apple's subscription policy. The way to not be affected by the policy is simple. The app simply can not have an in-app sales system nor can it link out of the app to a forms web page to apply and pay for a subscription. This totally makes sense as the subscription policy is more or less in place for subscriptions to periodicals and what not. Basically, Apple acts as the newsstand.

  • @dookiex I see where you're going with this, but Apple's new policy states that all publishers with a subscriber base MUST implement the in-app sales system.. even if they had been previously funneling their clientele to outside sources.

Once this change takes place, most iPhone/iPad/iBook users will choose the in-app feature (wouldn't you?) as it is by far more convenient for them, and when this happens the publisher then loses 30 % of that monthly/weekly/etc. sale to Apple.

  • @NixiePixel I definitely agree with you from a "moral" or "ethical" standpoint but I'm not sure if in-app subscriptions have much of an impact outside the realms of subscriptions for periodicals. This is of course wholly based off the fact that services such as Hulu, Netflix, etc. really does not have subscription/account management system outside of from their native webpages even though they are available on PS3s and other set top boxes for awhile now. Time will tell however, time will tell.

  • Apple has always been more hungry than anyone else... Spell MACS backwards

    SCAM

  • I regret not getting a Droid phone when I got my 3GS. Apple is a piece of shit who'll exploit its developers and customers knowing that, while there is an alternative, the avid brainwashed fanboys won't bother to switch over, thinking Apple is God, no matter what they do. Jobs has almost everyone who has an apple product by the balls in one way or another, whether it be shitty app support or DRM on music or lack of compatibility, you're stuck once you're in.

  • Hi. I love you. You're supper hot!

  • omg, bracelet, do want o.o And for some reason when I heard that "DROID" it made me think of the Alive 2007 version of Robot Rock by daft punk, which provoked an idea of an iPhone vs Android commercial... hehehe

  • What a huge dick in the face to all the app developers that actually MADE APPLE!! Because in truth apple is only used since it has APPS.

All I can say is thanks :D!! finally people will be moving onto androids

  • ANDROID FTW!

  • so I was trying to pay attention but her eyes were looking so nice this week...lol

  • Thank you Apple, we'll be seeing more Droid apps now.

  • wow thats some fucking bullshit

  • Nixie needs to become a suicide girl already

  • fuck apple, we love your ( . )( . )

  • Screw apple and their proprietary bull crap. I rather get an "open architecture" version of anything they make and put Linux on it and do what I want.

  • to complete your statement, the way apple sees it,"and that's like $84 million in netflix' pocket that they probably wouldn't have had if it wasn't for our app store and hardware"..or go to the netflix and buy it and they get full pop.. OR read: "Google will keep 10 percent of the sale price and share the customer’s name, ZIP code and e-mail address unless the customer specifically asks Google not to." ummm, no thanks.. and Nixie, please don't use the iCat stand.. that's just wrong girl..

  • "You can't raise your prices to offset our 30% take" - funniest, stupidest thing I've ever heard.

Love my iPad, but if they go through with this and screw around with what I pay for Kindle books, I ain't never buying an Apple product again.

  • I really liked the position of those speakers on your shirt.

  • @lugosky02 I won't lie... while I agree, I have to wonder if there is never a time she doesn't get a random or "disguised" (do u drop like quotes again after that... grammar not my strong suit) "I like your tits comment". I am not here as the dorky "oh u don't say that to women!" jackass... I say... If you are going to comment on the woman's tits be fucking original! I challenge u sir to say something original to her tits!

  • @digitalknight31 You're kind of right, I mean, there's no such thing as original tits. All of them are shaped in a likewise way, all of them have "aureolas" (not good at spelling) and all of them have nipples. However, if you set the spark I might come up with something, I won't say original but perhaps, nice.

  • Hurting developers?.. It's about Apple getting a percent from sales of subscription for data like articles or videos, which is not produced by developers but copywriters etc. The thing is, if you have newspaper and want to sell it to iOS users u can make free app + payed subscription, i.e. use Apple ecosystem to make money. It's unfair not to share IMO, so I'm for paying the percent.

Yet I also find 30% to bee a lot. But if publishers won't go for that, Apple will have to lower it. It's market.

  • Only fools buy apps at all. Jailbreak it and get them for free.

  • they're going to lose developers, wow remember back when apple was open source friendly? yeah me neither XDD

  • why the hell was there not paperwork done so the A-Holes could not do this. netflix should have had a team of lawyers put together so much red tape that apple would never find a loophole to do this. GREED is the problem. it not like they are hurting and doing this to stay afloat, or doing because everyone else is, or not even doing it as a project to improve services somehow. just money

  • oh nixie pixel, your my hero :)

  • I am actually slightly disturbed by the lack of sympathy towards developers both by Apple themselves as well as the (stereotypically) arrogant user-base. Microsoft has done the same thing in the past, particularly involving the availability of programming languages, and I'm really quite bothered to think that people may potentially be kicked out of their chosen development environment over this sort of behavior.

It's nice to develop for Linux.

  • I've been working on an app for iOS as well as Android with iOS being the primary. After these changes I've decided the make Android the primary so I'll be focusing my development efforts there. I think a 30% cut of anything is a pretty big hit to software developers whether you're one of the big guys or a micro-isv like myself.

I think ultimately this is going to end up in some sort of antitrust case because you should be able to get apps onto these devices w/o having to go through Apple.

  • Let Me see If I understand this right Netflix sells streaming programs & makes It possible for People with Apple products to receive the programs & Apple wants some of the profit of Netflix? I do Not see any copy rights violated so Netflixs owes Apple Nothing but If Apple brings business to Netflix then Netflix should be kind enough to share. But Apple Is Their own enemy No promotion of 3 party manufactures & all parts cheap & available as IBM type Computers.

  • I never realized "app" was a word for "program that lets companies and the developer community bend over so that Steve Jobs can do a Deliverance reenactment."

  • Because apple has really cornered the market for app development hence the name applet, they feel free to push everyone around. Now I do not know of any contracts specifically between these developers and apple... though i'm sure there are some. Apple is just trying to throw its weight around like Microsoft has been doing for years. In the end all big corporations care about is the bottom line, It doesn't matter if your Bill Gates, or Steve Jobs. They all are heartless.

  • @Rolroak Funny i always thought ( since I was a teen) app mean application. not applet. Then again i dont know much about these doo dads with the little screens and the little batteries an such. I just keep myself to my big clunker of a desktop.

  • this is why I hate Apple and have gone to Linux years ago since I worked for them and found out that apple under the skin of their shiny ass they suck and their hardware for their computers are way behind and if you do get something up to date with them it is dumbed down like crazy. GO UBUNTU!!!!!

  • apple fanboi's will still think this is the best idea eva by apple.

  • I love Apple & my iPhone, but this "philosophy" is stupid. I would start a "developer's block", if I were them.

  • Go Android :) Long life for Linux :) haha

  • If Microsoft would have done that the Federal Trade Comission would have forbidden that... but because it's just Apple...

As I always said: Apple has become even worse than Microsoft. They charge ridiculous high prices for their products, they do not try to establish open standards, their products are not more reliable and they are pretty much incompatible to everything that is not from Apple. But as long as ppl think it's cool to have an iPhone they can do whatever they want...

  • Apple is loosing ground to Android, so to improve profitability they are now clipping the subscription apps.

If the subscription apps folks were smart they would move to android.

  • @Abigsky

Apple is definitely loosing ground to Google's Android OS, and taking 30% will only accelerate the process. Netflix said the new version of Android (3.0) will likely have the requirements to run their Netflix App. once it hits the market, Apple is losing the battle and the war

  • who's apple??? :)

  • boobies :)

  • well its apples devise and so they do have the right and it is right for them to do this because they need to make money too and if the other company wants all the money they can go to droid.

  • I FUCKING CAME WATCHING THIS VIDEO

    FAP FAP FAP FAP

  • @ValTeeVee The only problem with that is it takes time and energy to program and maintain software in multiple programming languages.

  • wtf no boob jiggle

  • Just another evil empire, it seems big company's just can't do what is right.

Is there some sort of critical mass that once company's get to a certain size they stop doing and caring about what is right, and all morals go out the window.

  • @logicsquirrel I think in order for a company to get big it has to have questionable morals in the first place.

  • two words: fuck apple

  • @jerrylittlemars crap-all over [us]

  • @jerrylittlemars

    that's 4 words ;-)

  • @jerrylittlemars i would rather F---- Nixie

  • @dummyspitter lmao I would too lol

  • @dummyspitter

you would rather what? I guess you aren't worth of her toe!!

  • @dummyspitter yuck, girls are icky

  • @dummyspitter So does everyone

  • apple did the same thing so the entire music industry with itunes. believe me this will fly.

  • your awesome so glad i subscribe+hotness

  • I am Steve Jobs and I want moar money !!

  • @OZ2YOU hmm i think Mr Steve Jobs knows how to spell the word 'more' correctly ;)
