it's very strange because when Wrestlemania first came out on VHS (the colisieum video version) the into music was the same as the the intro music to all the colisieum videotapes that came out during that period but in 1997 when colisium video went out of business the WWF/E realesed a VHS wrestlemania box set that had ALL the original themes including "easy rider" "eye of the tiger" "another one bites the dust" etc and when the DVD anthology came out in 2005 a lot of it was edit out....
You do start adding until the following year like a wedding anniversary for instance. It's a marketing gimmick. They'll say it enough times until people start believing it. Pretty sad.
BOOOOOO!!! This INtro was suppose to be under "EASY LOVER"...and Vince is suppose to Welcome you to Wrestlemania... They killed the momentum by taking out "Eye of the Tiger", "Another one bites the dust" and "Born in the USA" too... noooooooooooooooo!
Yeah, it's a shame that WWE had to edit out the original music. I understand why they had to do it, but still. It's like they're altering history. You know what I mean?
Yep That's Production Music, I Hope i want to upload this video without McMahon's Voiceover and have the vocal version of this song by Philip Bailey and Phil Collins.
Let me explain. When the first WrestleMania premiered on TV, the opening theme was an instrumental edit of "Easy Lover" by Philip Bailey & Phil Collins. While the theme was playing in the background, Vince gave a run down of the matches. Because WWE does not own the rights to the song, they would have had to pay music royalties to use it on the DVD. Instead, they dubbed the original audio with a production theme, which is a lot cheaper. When WWE does this, it's like they're altering history.
Right. I have the old VHS of Wrestlemania, and the opening theme is played. I actually liked the WWF's opening theme. They played it at the beginning of all the mid 80s WWF videos.
I also have the WM1 vhs, and know exactly what you're talking about. But, what's really annoying, is when they dub other music in, and also re-dubb Howard Finkel introducing the people, it doesn't sound right, and it's lame, you have no idea how pissed I was when I saw that they did this with multiple people on the Wrestlemania Anthologies AND the Best of SNME...
Dude, I just replied to another comment you made, came here, and couldn't agree more. The re-dubb of Ricky Steamboat's music on WM 3 is the worst for me. Howard Finkel's call of him winning the IC title is one of the best ever because the crowd was simply going insane!! They completely ruined it by re-dubbing something that was not a part of the original show. I prefer to see things as they happened versus Vince's George Lucas like tampering with the originals.
Haha, I'll admit, before I lift, I watch like, 40 minutes worth of wrestling videos, they get me pumped up lol, I've commented SOOOOO many on here, Howard Finkel's "re-calls" are done on a lot of the dvds, and they're stupid, especially if you've SEEN the real deal, they tried to give him an echo, so it sounded legit on a ppv such as WM6 or WM3....but it doesn't work when they're in say, MSG LOL,
McMahon eliminated a lot of guys' music, and replaced them with generic garbage lyrics,
simply because he's too cheap to pay some stinking little royalty, and now he's paying for it, I guess because his DVDs are doing that, there are now an increasing number of ppl putting the originals on DVDs, sometimes even from them taping the ppv itself on VHS, and selling them, for cheaper prices than McMahon would ever consider. It's McMahon's own fault., and he deserves it.
a wrestlemania without the undertaker.
i used to be a HEAVY wrestling watcher.
it's just not the same anymore. from all the good ppl dying to everybody retiring...it sucks.

@I also like this replacement theme for the WrestleMania 1985 DVD version. Sounds like Steve Perry-era Journey.

why'd they get rid of Vince's voice? Is he's supposed to be this bad guy and it would ruin his character or somthing?

they've pretty much altered everybody's history mainly the ones whose libraries they've purchased

But I Think We Could resynch this one using the same intro but with Phil Collins and Philip Bailey's Easy Lover minus voiceover.

Was Easy Lover the original theme? On the video, it was something else.

Thats the main reason why I purchased SNME bootlegged. Sure I took a hit in quality on some of the episodes but they remain in their native form.

Any chance you could tell me how to acquire these bootleggings as well lol

Is this from the DVD anthology? Because the music is different and there's no Vince McMahon voiceover running down the matches.

Yup it's from the DVD anthology. Isn't it sad how WWE has to dub the original audio over with a generic production theme.
