this was an amazin film, Penn an Franco were just so perfect together on screen,

I remember in the early 80's as an outreach worker thinking that youth culture of the following generations would be much more open and educated and hate, fear, and ignorance would eventually end,

but that has not been the case, there are many things which homophobes are and being uneducated is a big part of their problems,

that and a fear of sex

This movie is simply...sublime. It has an impact to it, and shows a realization that is just beyond the usual superficial purposes of films... It makes one think, thus, a thinking movie.

Although it's tru, it wont make GRAND changes on people's ideals, but at least for a moment or two, they may look back and reflect... And little thoughts can go a long way...

Two thumbs up for this movie... Hope Sean penn wins an Oscar, wonderful performance...

This film made me think... It reminded me that the fight we have as human beings is not over. Intolerance, hate and denial still exist. There are too many powerful and influential people in the world today who are fanning the flames of injustice. If only people could live by three simple words... honesty, respect and courtesy, then most of our problems will be eliminated.

Many movies have been inspirational and educational to the public. Movies like Milk or Brokeback, can get people questioning their personal beliefs, so while there are some films related to this topic that will be "Historical records", but if it is well made it can change things.

Interesting question. I really think it's a relative one... It depends how well the movie does, and the audience it attracts. While I would love to see movies like this make a difference, the people that need to see it (i.e. everyone who voted for Prop 8) probably won't, so it won't be able to...
