This is a hard game and if you die you cant start on the level you die on you have to restart

Use the points you win to unlock extra lives. That makes it much easier.

the shooting is not 8 direction based only.

I have a gamepad for pc and it works in more than only 8 rirections

@Ukimos i believe it is only eight directions but even on ps3 that was a deliberate decision by the developer. but you'd have to ask them as to why.
