  • There are animals who eat meat, animals who eat grass, animals who eat fruits, animals who eat other plants and even animals who eat feces of other animals, but they have one thing in common: they dont expose their food to fire before eating it. We as humans are the only specie who cooks their food. Open your eyes people and listen to this guy

  • U need some muscles

  • Recent journal article from American journal of clinical nutrition, read it, learn something. Siri-Tarino PW, et al. Meta-analysis of prospective cohort studies evaluating the association of saturated fat with cardiovascular disease. Am J Clin Nutr. 2010 Mar;91(3):535-46.

  • My facts? You have obviously never read any research nor do you even know how to. The ignorance from you last statement is laughable. Fat in your blood does not correlate to fat in your diet. There are 3 meta analysis published that say I'm right. Do you know what a meta analysis even is? @fruitarianchick

  • Of course I want the calories in of my food. I die without calories.

A calorie is a unit of measurement. It does not matter wether it is coocked or not.

Don't eat to much, easy as that.

Cooked food is bad because it is dehydrated? Well I have a BEVERAGE like PLAIN WATER with my food. or even a good Beer.

Frutarism is just to defend an eating disorder... the lower the number of calories consumed the better... :(

  • @CAESARbonds you call our species specific diet an eating disorder? that's so sad that you have been brainwashed to think that. the standard american diet is the eating disorder, when people dont even know what to eat and just do what the status quo does. it's not about calories, 3000 calories from your cooked junk and beer diet are very different from 3000 calories from a diet of fresh fruits with some veggies. it's about the energy and nutrients. which do not exist in your diet.

  • @thatfruitarianchick

imho "trying to avoid calories" is a disorder.

    1 kcal=1 kcal energy wise!

3k cal are a hefty diet. The EU diet =1800-2500 depending on gender, age..

why is MY cooked food (often vegan) junk? Pasta with tomato sauce (fresh tomatoes)? is that bad?

    1 apple = 70kcal. 2000kcal = 29 Apples

    100g of lettuce = 13kcal. => 16kg = 35 lbs!

nutrients are still there after cooking. vitamins can be preserved by doing it right.

    Additionally I eat vegetables, fruits.

    I feel perfectly well

  • This stuff always cracks me up. It's always something we are doing that makes us very unhealthy. Here is the meat and potatoes. (rare meat and cooked potatoes). We have lived for a very long freaking time doing things the same way as our forfathers. My grandparents live to be over a hundred eating meat and cooked foods. I am a very healthy man myself (rarely sick). There is always a new way to live to live healthier it is all just new...not better.

  • I highly suggest you learn about the effects of glycation. There's over 5000 research papers published on it.

  • The biggest factor leading to insulin resistance is constant exposure to carbohydrates and glucose.

  • Hahaha have zero knowledge on human digestion and physiology. Instead of looking at only data that supports your dogma how about you take an objective look at the medical literature.

  • Blood sugar is caused by a high fat diet? Eat lots of sugar then check your blood sugars. Eat a steak, check your blood sugars. Dear God you know nothing about nutrition and you only know dogma

  • @stevenmsalinas Sugars start out in the digestive tract.

They pass thru the intestinal wall, into the bloodstream.

They move easily out of the bloodstream and into our cells.

Consuming a high fat diet traps the sugar at stage 2, sugar backs up in the blood creating sustained elevated blood sugar levels that wreak havoc in the form of candida, diabetes, chronic fatigue etc

  • @stevenmsalinas You obviously have very much knowledge and a life when you are sitting here judging someone who is incredibly fit and healthy and say that the way he eats is wrong. NOT. You won't have issues with blood sugar after eating fruit unless you have alot of fat in your blood. Get your facts straight before trolling.

  • @83carp1 you have obviously never read any medical literature or randomized control trials on nutrition. I dont know who doug graham is but he is wrong

  • So instead of eating a finite amount of AGEs with your cooked food, you digest thousands of grams glucose a day, increase blood sugar levels, and allow for the proliferation of AGEs many orders of magnitude greater than if you had just consumed a few with your food. Then you spread this piss poor, non science based (observational based, observation is not science) on to people as fact. Put your "fruitarian diet' in a RCT vs a ketogenic diet in a large scale study and watch it most likely lose.

  • @stevenmsalinas please read 80 10 10 by doug graham. The torrent is available free to download online.

You will gain a better understanding of this way of eating.

Blood sugar levels only increase with a HIGH FAT DIET.

Diabetes is caused by a HIGH FAT DIET

Candida problems are caused by a HIGH FAT DIET

Adrenal and pacreatic problems are caused by a HIGH FAT DIET

If you eat fruit along with a high fat diet these problems will occur.

    Let's not blame the fruit.

    FAT is the enemy

  • "Dehydrating" food made me laugh. If you drink 8 glasses of water a day as recommended by your doctor - hydration should not even be an issue.

Vitamins and Minerals may indeed be altered in the cooking process. But again, a balanced diet counters this. If this was indeed such a problem, you would see widespread micronutrient deficiencies within first world countries. But this is clearly not the case.

Certainly eating veggies and fruits are good. But its not everything.

  • @Blankydot If you ate like you should, you wouldn't even need 8 glasses of water! Fruit gives you a natural balance. Dehydrating and drinking water doesn't. It takes more time for dry food and liquid to be digested than it does for a piece of fruit.

  • Yes cooking foods can be bad. This mostly comes from pan frying, where carcinogens can indeed be formed during the high temperature process. There is also growing evidence that eating RED meat can raise your risk of cancer. Certainly this guy raises some good points. However, I would like to counter by saying that you can STEAM your food and cook it that way. This greatly reduces many of the risk factors associated with cooking food.

  • My grandad is 96, he has a varied diet including cooked food and meat and he is healthy and full of life. You could still end up with cancer tomorrow for all you know so at the end of the day it's about eating healthy, but not being so obsessive about it and thinking everyone else is wrong and less healthy than you are. Well done for promoting raw fruit and veg, but all the rest is debatable.

  • @4BodyGoals Arnstein hasn't been a fruitarian long enough to show its long term benefits and he is no where near qualified to be a certified nutritionist. We understand that he's an ultra marathon runner, but i doubt he places top ten in the world.

  • @4BodyGoals don't even try to reason with these quacks. We are not the same as horses and gorillas, we evolved to eat grains and cooked food. You're grandfather along with jack lalanne are proof that u can thrive on a mixed diet. I'm almost done with my body transformation and all i'm doing is a mixed diet and watching my calories and macro nutrients. These raw vegans talk about horses thriving off a plant based diet, but why not talk about lions thriving off a carnivorous diet?

  • @MmaNcovers because we are not carnivores. We are herbivores, We have jaws that chew, carb digesting enzymes in our saliva and longer intestines and weaker stomach acids. and a hell lot more do some google

  • @maharawj We are herbivores now? That's what we have canine teeth right? I don't do google, i do real research. Man has evolved. For a long period of time man ate nothing but meat during the ice age... We learned to make grain and cook vegetables to digest the cellulose found in all plants. Eating plants raw is a great source of fiber, that's why arnstein said in his video alot of the food that goes in his mouth comes out his ass the same way.... Meaning he barely digested it. NO GOOD.

  • @MmaNcovers Playing devils advocate here. If you think we evolved to eat plants then why are you still eating meat? If we evolved to eat such foods it would be for a reason and in turn would most likely be for the better, so it's clear regardless of position that plant food is the wiser choice.

We don't have the same canine teeth that meat eaters have, when was the last time you attacked an animal and killed it with your bare teeth?

  • @ACLogikel we evolved to eat a variety of things. We don't have perfectly flat teeth like horses.

  • @MmaNcovers well all i know is i dont canine teeth but i do have big teeth strong enough to break meat down very easily but i dont have the digestive system to break digest it properly thats why it takes me a good week to digest beef and other various meats

  • @yummytv101 that's why u should have different kinds of fiber, which aids in digestion. Don't believe everything u read off google.. All those researches use words like "maybe, probably, and possibly," meaning nothing was proven. Most researches that claim meat causes cancer are only done on a select 1000 people from one part in the world, then are compared to a select 1000 people in another part of the world. There are billions of people in the world.

  • @yummytv101 think like this Are cows given hormones? Yes. Do they eat grass with pesticides in it? Yes. Are we eating that grass? No. Are we injected with hormones? No. Do we eat an entire cow raw at least once a year? Not even close. There isn't any proof that meat causes cancer or that it is difficult to digest. My friends grandparents lived into their 90's in ukraine, and they ate meat daily. So many people consume meat, does that mean they will live lives with sickness?

  • @MmaNcovers watch the documentry "Eating" or "forks over knives" both on the pirate bay for free download.

Meat and dairy are the worst things u can put in your body.

There is a tonne of evidence.

Cooked meat and dairy products cause 70% of ALL human health problems.

  • @83carp1 seen that and food matters. They didn't show evidence. They showed a results from a small group study done on a few hundred or a thousand people from a select group of people. That doesn't represent the billions of people in the world.

  • @yummytv101 its not humane i care about my spiritual being.

  • You are very obssesive, to the point of sounding orthorexic. The way you make it sound as though there are NO benefits what so ever to eating a cooked meal and that people who eat cooked food are all fat. It's a lack of exercise and junk food that causes people to become fat. For all you know, i might eat just as much or more raw food than you PLUS cooked food etc thus i would be healthier lol.

  • @4BodyGoals He is being obsessive? Pot meet kettle... You just posted 6 posts in a row defending your point of view...

  • A healthy body produces the precise amount of enzymes needed to digest the ingested food appropriately and the enzymes our body uses for other processes are unique to our human needs and are not present in plants. Our body supplies exactly the precise amount of enzymes needed for digestion; we are not ill equipped to digest normal food. The plant enzymes are broken down into simpler molecules by our own powerful digestive juices.

  • Some studies show that the body absorbs much more of the beneficial anti-cancer compounds (carotenoids and phytochemicals—especially lutein and lycopene) from cooked vegetables compared with raw. Scientists speculate that the increase in absorption of antioxidants after cooking may be attributed to the destruction of the cell matrix (connective bands) to which the valuable compounds are bound.

  • Comment removed

  • More of the carotenoids in carrots are absorbed when carrots are cooked than when they’re eaten raw. Myrosinase might be destroyed when broccoli is steamed, while indole is enhanced and made more readily available to the body by the cooking process.

  • A balanced diet of both cooked and raw food is best. Some vegetables actually become more nutritious when cooked at higher temperatures (the tomato is the classic example -- when cooked it breaks down cell walls and actually releases nutrients that you wouldn't get in uncooked tomatoes) You could have a nice warm, spicy lentil soup, lentils need to be cooked. If you steam the vegetables or cook them in a stock that you will also eat, then you are still getting most of the benefits of the food.

  • Cooking is fundamental throughout humanity as it has been for many thousands of years, well into the hundreds of thousands of years, if not well over a million years.

  • "saturated fats don't exist in nature" ever seen a coconut?

  • Comment removed

  • what about the fact that fruits are available just for a short period in nature? what about the 100.000 years humans cooking. what about the recently discovered amylase gene and the salivary amylase in the mouth, our weakened digestion? what about the thousands of years ,civilizations behind us? there is a guy who ate only cooked potatoes and didn't get fat ,he lost weight! cook in water without meat ,gluten ,soy and try to go for alkaline foods like sweet potatoes, keyword is unprocessed!

  • It is irrelevant what "most people would agree upon" about raw or cooked foods. What matters is the empirical evidence. It does not help the case for Raw using an argumentum ad populum.

  • You don't get amino acids when you cook??!! Enzymes are proteins, and when you cook a food you break the protein structure therefor it's easier to get the AMINOACIDS (they don't suddenly disappear). If you eat raw food, exactly the same is going to happen BUT inside your stomach and with your own enzymes. Also you say that cooking is wrong cause it makes diggestion easier, and then (a few minutes later) you recommend the raw diet cause it is "easy to diggest". I'm kind of going crazy right now.

  • @anionaesca When you cook food many of the amino acids are destroyed. When you eat raw your body has better access to the amino acids because they are not damaged.

He didn't say it cooking food makes the digestion easier he said it makes it easier to absorb the calories in the food. It may take or may not take longer to digest, but the absorption of the calories is greater. Meat on average takes 100 hours to digest. Most fruits take 20 mins or less to digest. Read 80/10/10 if you want to know.

  • @anionaesca tell you anything about the raw food diet?

  • Get the hell outta here hippy, are you scared of pussy too! People have been vegans for thousands of years and people have been eating meat even longer. We all eat to live,we're all still here, meat eaters and vegetarians so your diet aint all that better. A lot of top athletes eat meat, anyone can get sick and die regardless of diet so shut up.

  • @sadetwizelve Explain why so many people get sick compared to say 50 years ago. Quite a mystery, eh?! Not really. All we have to do is compare. What were they doing back then compared to what we do today. They ate more fruits and vegetables. There wasn't that many if any chemicals in their food. They got more exercise. Didn't eat as much meat as we do today. They got out more, got sun, fresh air, and the water was more pure. Sure all can get sick, but feel great on raw until you do. Your choice!

  • Hi Michael, big fan of your vids and I think your enthusiasm is great. Important to make a differentiation between foods like steamed veggies or lentils vs. highly processed standard American foods, though. I don't think it's bad for someone to eat these foods occasionally if they choose, in addition to tons of fresh fruits and veggies. Hope all is well, -B

  • Less water = less healthy ? What is the nutritional content of 100% pure water ?

Also, couldn't you just drink a glass of water with your meal ?

  • Watch his video "Bottled Water Insanity! ", it explains why water in fruit is the best you can find.

  • @EddyARB yes living water

  • So what I got out of this is:

Cooked foods are bad because we eat too much and exercise too little. (I do not see the problem with the food, but with the lifestyle)

  • I love the vid but hate that cooking noise, could you edit that out.

  • the traditional Eskimo (Inuit) diet contains large amounts of raw fish and raw meat. no fruits or vegetables and they are fat but very much healthy

  • @seygra20 Eskimos are fat?? What makes you think that? I thought they were all incredible lean. Don't confused by the puffy coats.

  • You're so great Michael! Thank you for providing so much information and help, you keep me inspired and really help me stick with this path. Your videos make a big difference!

  • i thought it was harder to absorb and break down cooked food. And it was easiest to break down and absorb raw foods.

  • @lunaldo9 : You actually have the formula completely opposite. Cooking food makes it easier to digest and, most interestingly, may have been a key step in hominid evolution (the energy that other animals use on digesting raw material could be freed up for our brains). For more information, Richard Wrangham has recently written a very interesting book on this very subject (Catching Fire).

  • @rannic nice 8)

  • @rannic there is also a ted talk on here about that:

    watch?v=bkeBjP_9ZR4

  • @lunaldo9 Depends on the food and ironically, some foods lose AND gain some nutrients when cooked. Spinach loses vitamin C when cooked but gets more vitamin A when compared to raw spinach. Some of what raw fooders say is true but a lot is shrouded in lies and misinformation. Enzymes are destroyed or start getting destroyed once saliva hits it and destroyed before it reaches our small intestine, where the absorbtion of nutrients take place. search c0nc0rdance, his vids are good but search more.

  • I am speechless in that finally some very well illustrated and articulate information is finally becoming available to the masses like this. This is going to take the whole planet by storm over time. Real Game Changer Information and confirmation. Thanks for being the inspirational person you are Bro! My turn to carry and pass on the torch!

  • Thank you thank you thank you for this amazing video.

Finally something to show to people who are not willing to read about this.

    Well done

  • I got really fat on a cooked food diet... Just in the last 10 days I've dropped alot of weight on a raw food plan.

  • Don't forget about acrylimides which are produces when starches are cooked, like bread and potatoes.

  • *tomatoes are high in Lycopene
