  • Obama told AIPAC that Jerusalem "must remain undivided;" but when Palestinian Authority President Abbas complained, Obama changed his mind. Now, Obama says that the status of Jerusalem is something for the "parties to negotiate."

I don't know which is more remarkable, Obama's flip flop based on input from Palestinians or that this story only made page A6 of the June 6 Washington Post.

  • AverageVoter, you should read what Obama had to say morecarefully perhaps. His "undivided" comment was a reference to the pre-1967 Jerusalem that had barbed wires and fencing running thru the city. He doesn't want to see that and for good reason. He amended his wording to be less needlessly offensive to Palestinians. Are you suggesting he should try to be MORE offensive to them? Amending one's statements to clarify a position is not changing his position.

  • The problem is that Obama was speaking to a very powerful pro-Israel group and made no attempt to "clarify" his position until after the Palestinian Authority complained. He said what he thought the people in front of him wanted to hear and didn't think anyone on the other side of the world would notice. Of course, he should not deliberately attempt to offend Palestinians, which is why his clear and unambiguous statement on Jerusalem was so significant, even if it only lasted 24 hours.

  • Granted McCain is not McAble and tells total McWhoppers all the McTime and is the McManchurian McCandidate, but there is nothing Mctrue or unMcbullshit about American Foreign relations anymore. i am afraid these fuckers are making up a story as people do. Status always becomes about deception and misleading. This fellow is probably trying to position himself for another advancment up the ladder of suckexcess, and would not speak the truth if it threatened to give him a trim.

  • Arrghhh!!! I feel like slapping these two! NON-INTERVENTIONISM and RON PAUL is the elephant in the room that no-one seems to want to discuss. Talk about harking back, and a total rethink, Ron Paul's been saying it all along! Get with the program, Wilkerson - endorse Ron Paul, write him in, and say it out loud, and SOON!

  • i dont know how much i like what this guy has to say. I honestly think the election is set up. I mean how can a guy like Mccain get the republican nomination? The guy is so dumb its like watching a comedy. I sometimes believe this is all set up.

  • obarma or mCcain is still a vote for war

  • well for the most part those stimulus checks where just used to pay bills. There are people who still goto malls, but shit. WHere are they getting that extra income? They really aren't. People are getting more and more tense especially contractors. I ad to stop my job search, but now I am just tutoring math making 120 a week, and if a few more clients come my way I can make 200 a week. I live in Oklahoma so that's really decent here.

  • Everything is becoming more expensive b/c your wealth IS being transferred. WakupAmerica

Stop worrying about f'n gas and start worrying about your devaluing currency. This is where the focus should maintain a strong debate but it hasn't. Comparatively speaking, don't look at oil as if you are paying too much for it b/c your NOT. Your economy is stalling. Bush with the help of main stream media elitists, over the years have verbally pawned your asses into submission. END the FED slavery sys.

  • goread. In AMerica. A dollar is stil a dollar so we can't tell that it's devalued unless you put it next to a Euro. But yea for the most part that's why prices are rising because our Currency is weakening. Nihon here I come!!!1!!!!

Oh yea I saw this coming two years ago so I invested in other currencies that were more stable.

  • Which program?

  • Keep up the good work Real News!

  • Obama/Clark 2008!

  • Obama/Edwards in 2008

  • Last time I checked there were more than two people running. Real News needs to get a clue and stop claiming to be any different when it commits the same political bigotry as the mainstream media.

  • I couldn't agree more. Real News is really slanted.

  • NI4DdotUS

    RALPH NADER

    CYNTHIA MCKINNEY

    NUFF SAID.

  • Joe Liberman scares me.

  • All the foreign policy thinking was done over two-hundred years ago. Now would be a good time to think about revisiting the principles laid down and sticking to them. Obama is so much hot air.

  • I ask ALL military personel from EVERY country to lay down your weapons and go home and be with our family and grow a garden! Let the murdering ass munchers duke it out!

    ================WHO AGREES?==================

  • I agree

  • as do i

  • me too!!

  • Without them there is no wars. It's common sense.

An armed town is a respected town, national military is a manipulative pack of sheep.

    Like Albert Einstein said:

The pioneers of a warless world are the youth that refuse military service.

  • Your suggestion is very silly.

  • Silly?

    It's the best idea EVER!

If you also vote/write in Ron Paul.

  • I guess this could almost work if we were at war with other countries. However, in case you have not noticed, the people attacking us are terrorists that are not attached directly to a country or a to uniformed army.

  • However, in case you have not noticed the "terrorists" are manufactured by sick ass munchers to assist their agenda. Have you really seen one?

  • sounds like we are going to war with Iran.... the effects are guna be scarry

  • bush and israel have labeled iran as an 'existential' threat, ..in other words, they will attack iran inevitably. Wouldn't be surprised if it was this year. Bush and his friends have nothing to lose

  • You've miss-spelled McCain in the tags... If Bob Barr (or any other third party voice) gets into the debates there may be substance, otherwise it's mindless soundbites from here to November.

  • The Real News didn't even cover that Bob Barr got the nomination. How is it that Wikipedia and the YouTube comment section does a better job covering political news than The Real News? Talk about dropping the ball.

  • It seems especially egregious given the impact third party candidates have had on some recent elections. I have a feeling they are hurting for general research and writing staff, perhaps they should solicit independant news contributions as well as monitary donations.

  • well I'm sure they can only cover so much. Not everything should be watched. I hope people read more than just watch what's on tv or in a video.

  • Maybe they could have taken away from all the horserace videos they've already done (that they promised not to do) and cut back on all the Rev Wright stuff. Also, how much out of the loop do you have to be to not realize there are other candidates or take a moment to name them?
