As for picking a guitar up off the wall at a music store and complaining about high action, i dont expect to have all the guitars set up before i walk in the door. every player likes a different set up. that is the bonding i do when i get a guitar. remove the strings, clean it up and put fresh strings. then set it up the way i like/action first then intonation. At the store i am looking at construction and sound, not playability. Some showroom employees might not be able to do setup work.
I know,... I went to a music store, I usualy go to, saw this thingy in a corner(next to bas guitars, I kinda don't imagine what a guitar sounding like that would be sitting among bas guitars), picked it up and pluged it in a fender deluxe amp. I was sceptic... it sounded great and felt amazing too.
Got one today, Saw it.. liked it.. picked it up.. played it....Bought it... WOW these things punch way above thier weigh,t it was a delight to hold and play. I am very happy to have this alongside my American delux strat & Les paul. It`s incredible !.........GET ONE you won`t be dissapointed.

that does sound amazing for a squier, or any guitar in that price range, but i'm yet to hear a clip or play classic vibe tele that is in the same ball park as a Fender Standard tele
If you mean fender Standard Tele as in the Mexican Standard? If so you have to be joking. My Squier CV gets more play time than my John Mayer Sig easily.
Yeah, I mean the Mexican Standard. There's a lot of variation in the quality of those guitars, some I've heard and played are outstanding. You're probably right about the CV sounding better than the John Mayer sig. I don't play strats so I'll take your word for it.
It doesn't sound better than the John Mayer Sig, thats one of the best sounding and playing Fenders I've ever played and happened to own, but it definitely holds its own and I don't feel like its a downgrade in quality when I switch from the mayer to the CV. Im not a tele man, but to me the CV tele sounds and plays better than the standards I've played. I prefer the ALnico 3s in the CV to the ceramic in the standard, and the glossy neck and vintage tuners.
Dude, no offense but, you should tune your guitar first! Or if it's tuned already, there's something weird on the sound.
