Rumble Seat: Land Rover LR2

Looks decent enough and most people are not going to push it to its limits anyway. I got a 2003 Pathfinder that has earned its spot in the garage, but I wanted a newer SUV for everyday usage.The problem is that the LR2 is fancier than the Pathfinder, but very similar and even more expensive. Mostly I see yuppies and young women driving them, but it would do for my purposes if the price tag wasn't so high.

first day I took my LR2 off road. Its a manual so you need to know how to use the clutch. Which coming from a defender background was a bit strange.

@ejuoi You are so right...! I bought my Pathy thinking it would help during snowstorms and it does, but it doesn't actually snow that often where I live and the offroading I do could probably be done in a Subaru Legacy just as well. Its in 2 wheel drive 95% of the time.

Saying it isn't as good off road? Take a look at the Hummer H2? Or Cadilac Escalade? most sucky off-roaders in the world... I'm sure this car can take on almost any american off-roader, since Land Rover makes the best off-roaders in the world

"bells and whistles" is a saying for extras and toys... not for the dinging noises youre talking about. and he didnt say it sucks off road, he just said that because it doesnt have a low speed gearbox and offroad tires that its not as capable as the LR3 or Range Rover. theres no need to get defensive and say hummers and our other suv's suck off road. Theyre just as capable, just not as luxurious. but they are cheaper to buy

Yes I have driven one off road, thats why I left the comment. I drove it at a Land Rover event, and didn't like it as much as my disco... Its still a nice truck dont get me wrong. Its just a level below the others, but hey it would kill everything else in its size class. (BECAUSE ITS A LAND ROVER)

Jeeps are not crappy, they are awesome off road vehicles that will last a long time, so don't say they're crappy, plus a Grand Cherokee can be classy in the higher models

Jeeps, specifically the Wrangler and discontinued Cherokee are still tried and true designs that dominate off road.
