i also bought 1 on ebay for 26- , i got the machine and all the attachments, got the 2 ends of the hose, i really had to scrounge for an inlet (different maker) i hunted the internet and bought promo materials etc, i use my machine every other day in my rented totally restored by me apt, the building was finished in 1913, the suction is ok. i could never ever imagine using any other form of vacuum. any ques? i will answer any anybody has.
vacboy88 I wonder if you could do me a favor. Could you possible measure the electric motor? I may have found one that would work for my arco wand unit.
I bought my unit on eBay for 25 bucks lol. The person I bought the arco wand from was renovating a house and his son told him to put the unit on eBay instead of scrapping it. My arco wand is missing the repulsion start motor and I haven't been able to find a replacement motor for it. I did call the arco wand company and to my amazement the man I spoke to was the great grandson of the arco wand founder/ inventor. I would really love to get my arco wand working, it's a very cool machine.
I have an arco wand from 1914 in my house, I've never seen one in action before. How is the suction?. do you have any attachments for yours? I still have the paper work, wooden chest, hose rack and booklets for my unit. I would love to see more videos of this unit.
@goodground1 Not a lot of suction on this one, mostly because there are rust holes in the bucket and the lower portion of the tank. Ever try firing yours up? This one wasn't too difficult to get running like this. That's me walking behind the machine in the beginning of the video, BTW.
Doesn't sound too healthy...
