You got that right! The greatest danger from psych meds comes during withdrawal. One young lady I know personally was involved in testing to make money for college. When they took her off the medication, she hung herself in her room. She had no emotional issues, she just wanted to make some money.

What does this have to do with Scientology? I have nothing to do with CCHR or Scientology, but this is the truth! People do not stab themselves repeatedly unless they have been drugged, all school shootings have been committed by kids who were drugged. How is Scientology making money? Drugs are BIG BIG money! Your statement is not even rational. Do you actually have personal experience with the "truth"? I have! The truth is important to me so that I can protect myself and my family! That is all that is important here. If you choose to think that drugs are the answer than I hope I do not cross your path. What more can I do. I can keep myself off drugs, but how do I keep myself safe from drugged robots who may eventually snap?

This is scientologist propoganda trying to scare people. These ads really misrepresent the research data. I received a PhD in child psychology and studied depression. I am not a big fan of prescribing medications to very young children. But I agree correlation is not causation; how many people were SAVED because they were on medication?

Everyone did just fine before all of these drugs infiltrated our society. What makes it necessary to drug people now when they were doing just fine before? What the hell are we fixing???

And if your answer is chemical imbalances, then I say, where's your hard physical proof?

Amen! People who were depressed did not commonly kill themselves until the introduction of psychiatric drugging. People are "saved" from feeling their feelings for a time, then when the dam bursts, hell breaks loose. How is that solving any problem or saving them from anything?

Nobody gets SAVED by psychiatry. They simply get their symptoms treated, which is a very good thing. These crazies however seem to believe that suicide from anti-depressants is the rule, not the exception.

It is a big like arguing that people who have lighters in their pockets are much more likely to get cancer, therefore lighters in pockets cause cancer. People who have lighters in their pocket are much more likely to be regular cigarettes smokers, and it is the smoking that is causing the cancer.

Except that these "lighters" have black box warnings from the FDA, specifically indicating increased suicidal tendencies. You make a nice analogy, Havermayer, but check your facts.

Co-relation does not mean causation. The argument put forth is "some people who are on anti-depressants have killed themselves, therefore the anti-depressants made them kill themselves". The causal link hasn't been proved though, merely a co-relation. The co-relation is more likely because people who have deep emotional and psychological problems are much more likely to kill themselves, and thus also be on medication.

But they also haven't proved that the medication helps either. There is no physiological test, no chemical test that can be done to prove that there is anything wrong with them at all. So why the chemical fix? Because they make money prescribing these to children. The first girl in this ad didn't look very depressed to me.

Havermayer. These are public service announcements not a thesis on drugs. However, it has been proven, even in clinical trials, that these drugs can cause death, suicide and violent behaviour. If you disagree then do the research yourself - we have! But please do not use semantic argument in an attempt to disprove the message. That's what psychiatrists do - put out unscientific theories to baffle and convince the population that they have the answers. They do not. Please, think for yourself!
