  • what do u do in zbrush and what to do u in maya?

  • I like the girl.

  • Hey very nice models man really are their any good books or websites you would recommend ?

  • @Twonzeey Thanks for your comment.

For modeling book, I would recommend Zbrush by Scott Spencer.

It is a good book for Zbrush learning.

For the website, maybe cgsociety, try participate in any of theirs challenge.

    :)

  • Wow you should be a gaming designer

  • @FLYkargo Thanks!

But after working in the game industry for a while, I think I will stick to the game art department.

The designing part is totally different than what I do and what I can do.

    Cheers,

  • AWESOME! are these rigged ? for sale?

  • @comsii Thanks for your comment.

I riged all the character but just for poseing only.

Not good rigging enough for sell yet.

  • Do you do freelancing also ? I need 3d animation done for a fitness website.

  • @MrClues1 Thanks for your comment. :)

  • Very nice, man!! I really liked your jobs! Did you make them for games? ´cause they´re low poly. I´d like to give you a hint about doing demo reels: I think it´d better present that without the textures to show the details of the models, because that´s a "modeling reel". Maybe you could do a "Texture reel" later to focus only on the textures. That´s only a hint, man ;) Congratulations for the models!

  • @luisrosenstock Thanks for your comment.

These're the work that I done in school.

I got what you mean, for this video I tend to show the variety of the work that I can do.

So it is a combination of some high poly and a lot of low poly model for game.

For low poly, the matter is a texture and that what I'm going for.

    :)

  • awesome song, whats it called ?

  • Someone plays WoW

  • dang, i wonder if u work on game production rite now after make these model reel, answer answer answer :D

  • @deyriell Hi,

Yes, I'm working in the Game studio :)

Mostly on iPhone project, my first project with the Munkies was "Archetype" a FPS for iPhone.

  • whats this track called???

  • @unborn1980 It is a Sin city OST, the Cell I think.

  • girl in the kitsune mask was amazing

  • I really like the lady in the mask, but Godzilla was amazing. Was that a bump map on him or did you do those in Z brush/mudbox?

  • @TheKankeinaiFactor Thank you. For the Dragon model I created him in Zbrush and render in Maya.

It's a combination of High poly model + Normal map, due to Maya can't handle the high'rez model that's mucha nd if I used only Bump map on Low poly model it won't looks good either.

  • Very nice work. It always inspires me when I watch these showreels.

    Thanks

  • freaking nice low poly models!

    awesome keep it up

  • And the last question. What is the best way to learn the proportion of the human?

  • @70ryand The good way to learn proportion of human is understanding the anatomy.

It's a basic idea for everything you need. Once you know how each muscle interact with each others, then everything will be flow. Also observation and practice is most important, because each person has different proportion, body size, weight, height. It would be better if you have anatomy model to study and do a lot of drawing or even sculpting! Learn by doing is the most efficient way! Have fun :)

  • program name pls

  • @ND1100 look in discription, Zbrush, maya and photoshop.

@ToykoF REALY nice work. I'm working with exact the same programs as you do. But i'm far from OK at it. Do you have any hints for me? Cuz i am only 16 and have 2,5 years to go until i have to decide what to do. And howe did you started? did you buy tutorials or did you learned it by your self, what is the fastes way to learn maya?

And do you have a new moddeling reel planed? Cuz 2010 is almost over :D

  • @70ryand thx

  • @70ryand Thank you. :)

I start by learning from a tutorial book and after I know a basic useof it, I ask someone who used it a lot.

For example, I got an internship and start learning 3D from that company. These days you can find a lot of tutorial online, especially on youtube. SO I would recommend you to at least get some book and watch online tutorial. The fastest way to learn is to do. Set up a goal, maybe create your own character, a hero, a monster whatever you like! :)

  • words cannot describe how seriously awsome they look.. what program are you using.

  • @MrDavrehck

He says in description its Zbrush, Maya and Photoshop. i'm assuming its mostly maya and he uses zbrush for the higher poly stuff.

  • @lazerlemon2 oh yeah..thanks sorry i forgot

  • @MrDavrehck Thanks for replying :)

For the Hi-Rez, I used Zbrush but after that to finish the process I finished all of them in Maya.

  • sin city was an awesome film, almost as awesome as this reel

  • I enjoyed watching this. VERY nice work! Where is it you work? I want to work for Blizzard in Irvine. =)

  • @phased3 Thanks man.

    I work at MunkyFun Inc.

Blizzard is really awesome, if you have a chance try submitting your demo reel to them.

They also had an internship every year(if you're a student).

  • @ToykoF What school did you go to to learn 3d modeling?

  • @GregariousGorilla I start by myself and after working for a while. I went to Academy of Art University in San Francisco USA.

  • Very Good. If you have a chance I would like to chat sometime. I am also a 3D Character Artist. My msn messanger is aleuus@live.com

  • @airbrushIvanov Thank you, Your work is also great!

I like the Killer in your reel, it reminds me of Frazetta's work.

Also I didn't on msn that much but you can shoot me an email.

    Cheers.

  • can you make a tutorial?

    plz plz plz

  • Man... I did my preliminary sketch, finished sketch for a character design, but FFS... I fail hard in 3ds max. Where did you learn 3d programs and Zbrush?

  • @zombieiscool HI, you know I start from 3D Max also but I didn't like it that much. Then I switch to Maya and it really blow me away, for me (personaly) I prefer Maya coz its interface is more easier for me. If you don't like max, how bout give Maya a shot?

I start learning by interning in a 3D company and watching the people there working and I kept praticing by myself.

  • @ToykoF

    Did you have any tutorials?

  • @wallantia I didn't, sorry.

But if you have any question, feel free to ask.

    :)

  • If I struck on something, I ask those people to give me some tip. Overall it about keep praticing and practicing.

For Zbrush I take a class at AAU with Tareq Mirza and just grad from there recently. Keep it up man!

  • Those are absolutely fantastic

  • Dude, you are the fucking master at this.

  • who do you work for?

  • @Forgotentruths I'm working at Munkyfun Inc.

  • awesome stuff, man. I see your name ToykoF, r u from japan?

  • @luvcoolstuff Thanks man, this is just my login name. I'm from Thailand but now I live in US.

    :)

  • What is the song?

    nice models

  • @ETHOB121 Thanks man, it's call "The Cell" an OST from Sin city.

  • @ToykoF Thanks I knw it was from a film

  • I love that ship :)

  • very very good work

  • @highflycloud9 Thanks man!

  • wow excellent work!

  • @athyunsanthu Thanks man :)

  • Umm .. one question ...

How Did U Make All Those Cuts In The Skin Of The First Model ...

    Z Brush?

  • I use alpha brush for those cut and scale texture.

You can download it at pixologic website or you can make your own custom alpha.

  • :P Deeper Explaination Please :P

    U See Im Still A Bigger :)

So Alpha Brush Is A program? O,o

Sorry To Annoy U With This But I'm Really Really Intrested In It =3

  • No worried man, your welcome:)

I use Zbrush for the first model for sculpting.

After I finish sculpting for the main part, next process is detailing.

Some part of the skin I did by hand (meaning using normal brush tool in Zbrush to sculpt), but some detail part I use Alpha brush, which is like a stencil.

So you can get the detail from the alpha brush on your model right away, there're a lot of way to use alpha brush too.

  • If you surfing around on youtube, I think some people record their video when they're sculpting, you might understand it more easier. But if you have a question, feel free to ask me.

  • I See ..

I Didn't Get it A 100% But I'm Convinced Now That Z_Brush Is Necessary In Pro Modelling :D

    Thank You So Much :D

Subscribed For Awesome Models And Being Cool With Noobies ;)
