In your info you said you bought duck shoes? My duck walks a lot and I've noticed his feet get a little sore and I would like to purchase some shoes for him but I can't find anything online! Where do I go to buy them?
Looks just like my ducks! I have 2 whited and 3 mallards. Used to have 4 but one flew away last night and never came back :( but fir future reference don't raise baby mallards and white ducks together because the white ducks take on the mallards wild instinct.
Were in Florida do you live, I'M in Fleming Island/Orange Park North East Florida. We have 4 Pekin Ducks with the oldest being 4 years old (male) Star. I would suggest a cover over her area, we lost one of our ducks to a Hawk .
wow she got big and shes a really nice lookin duck. really makes me miss mine : ( if i lived where you do there would be no doubt i would still have my duck. since i live in chicago suburbs it gets really cold here and he lived most of his life outside and i couldnt keep him inside the whole winter. they say of you live somewhere cold that you need more then one duck or a heated shed for them but my mom would not be happy with me getting another one and i didnt have the cash to pay for a shed
From what I hear ducks do better in the cold, better than chickens at least. But if it gets below 0 degrees and it starts shaking, than that's when you know it's a little too cold.
Stick with the layer rations! More nutrients than corn, and she will be able to fight off infections better, too. You are blessed with such a lovely bird . . .

Yeah we get lots of snow and it hits around 0 often during our winters. At least he's with other ducks now to keep warm.
