  • almost too perfect...:P

  • He was one of mine family member <3 <3

  • Hate this version.

  • @MrRabastan Join the few who do

  • Nicely played! Agitato! :)

  • What a true Master! He is greatly missed but what a blessings to be able to hear his music even now!

  • Oof, whoever mixed/restored this recording used too much dynamic compression.

  • This actually sounds too robotic :\....The counting is too precise.

  • @TboneIsRogue I'd like to hear your vesion

  • @MCHEATH Just saying...

  • One of my favorite pieces of music. It warms the soul like the sun on flowers.

  • this piece is SO much fun to play!

  • HAHAHA! :) This is like the only thing I can laugh to because its spiritual, fun, exciting, and beautiful!

I can actually say "I Love You!!!"

    ^^ Truly meaning it!

  • A lot of comments I read about this song are memories of deceased loved ones. This is a lovely song to associate with your memories.

  • Contrived and completely lacking in inspiration, although idiomatic for the piano.

  • @organman52 Well, Mr. Organman, why don't you upload how you think it should be?

  • @mr18duh learn to spell father.

  • You can find this in 51 Great Classics, I've played it, it's the same score. This tune was in the move The Music Man. Bb minor, the VI of C#

  • This is the song that my mom played for the family for years and years. Vascular dementia finally took away the ability a few years before she died. We still have a video when she could make it all the way through the piece.

  • A very interesting interpretation. Remarkable.

  • Beautiful!

  • this was the only song my dad could play on the piano. he didn't read music. he learned it by ear. he worked for ford. his shift didn't end til 2am. he would come home from work and sit down at the piano. it would start of sort of like this version but he played it over and over.each time it got more intense my fondest memories are of laying in bed listening to him play. each time better than the last. he died 20 years ago. tonight i really need him. and this is as close as i can get. thx

  • @tlynch1218 it must have been awesome to listen to great music like that, even more so that's played by your own dad. kudos.

  • @madlynny thanks. yes, it was pure joy listening to him play. what i wouldn't give to hear him play one more time.

  • That 1 person that dislike this video was probably aiming for the Like button but then he had a minor seizure causing his arm to move rapidly which caused him to click the dislike button.

  • Who would dislike this?

  • 1 person disliked it because they can't play it this fast.

  • 1 person has no taste...

Horowitze.

  • I find this too be a bit too tonal. By his time, more modality/post-tonality was/is to be expected. Preference I guess.

  • @miiwiiplay and?

  • @MCHEATH Do i need an "and"? It's an opinion.

  • @miiwiiplay leave.

  • @LincolnDunn1 am I not allowed an opinion? Tool...

  • I remember it played by Horowitz.

  • This is beautiful playing. Thanks. It's a wonderful piece, too. Sinding's star waned after WWII for political reasons into which it is not necessary to go here.

  • killarmy wu renegades

  • Proverbs 10:28

The prospect of the righteous is joy, but the hopes of the wicked come to nothing.

  • @MODERATECALVINISM im sorry but what brought that on?

  • Amazing touch on the keys... excellent, definitely the best version

Just finished this piece yesterday! it's a tough one alright

  • Bravo! Brilliant performance! Didn't know this pianist--I'm wondering if he might have been a cousin of mine--Billington was my grandmother's maiden name!

  • I just started this song today. I could only dream to play as well as this.

    Great Job!

  • This is my Dad playing. He sadly died in January but we'll always have his amazing interpretation of wonderful music. He truly was one of a kind. Thanks everyone for such lovely comments on his playing.

  • In 2006 I met mr Bogdan Kolasinski (held in Auschwitz 1943-44). He said that The Rustle of Spring was one of the most frequently played piece by the Camp Band in Nazi Auschwitz-Birkenau Camp. This beautiful composition was heard by thousands of thousands victims while going to gas chambers. It's such a terrible history of this beautiful composition.

  • Sinding's Rustle of Spring is a gem conceived in a moment of musical purity, buoyance n joy, totally in sync with the seasonal nature Norway is known for. Sheer beauty.

  • This is the best performance of this song I've heard so far. Such a majestic piece...

  • THIS SONG IS SO HARD!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this recording is very good... whos playing?

  • wow every time i listen to this song i just fell happy :P haha im learnin this song soon and i cant wait woohooo

  • I always loved this piece. I was only a third year student when i insisted that I play this. I was lucky to have an instructor that would not hold me back. This piece is eleven pages long and oh so worth taking a sit down to. Simply lovely.

  • @Moniqtee really? mine's only 8 pages

  • @Pie9178

oh dear! It is? Well, mine's is eleven pages long! I got it from a piano master. She plays many instruments. You may have a shorter version.

  • @Moniqtee I don't think it is because it sounds exactly the same as this version.

  • The beginning just stirs my soul

    Magic

  • I'm going to be playing this piece for a local judging "competition" -- I love the interpretation and general artistry!! Great job!!

  • who is the pianist ?

  • Killarmy -Wu Renegade

  • NICE

  • lovely ..

  • great performance. especially the ending. The dynamics and accuracy is beautiful.

  • couleurs , tonalités , éléments " eau ",

de la musique fortement impressionniste .

  • simply virtuoso!!!!!

  • I just had to stand up and clap my hands for this awesome performance! :) i've seen and heard so many interpretations here on youtube but this one is the best and most accurate one.. I could tell because I play this piece too, but not as brilliant as this one because I'm not a professional pianist yet.. kudus to the pianist!!!!! awesome job!!! :)

  • I can only second the compliments already given here. One hardly ever hears this show-off piece interpreted prettily and pleasing for the ear. This is a real gem, bravo and encore! (next time with better sound quality?)

  • Thank you ever so much for this interpretation : it's admirable !!!

  • At last - DYNAMIC CONTRASTS along with accurate and artistic playing!!!

  • blüthner just fits to the tune

  • i can almost play that fast lawlz but i kinda fail

  • whos the player? Cant believe its the composer.....

  • such an interesting piece

  • CHURCH!!!!

  • Wow, this is by far the best version I have heard on youtube. The feeling put into this piece makes it hard not to get wrapped up in the music and just elates the song to a whole new level . A great inspiration for all pianists learning this song!

  • I'll take Killarmy's version, "Wu-Renegades." Peace.

  • My spine gets chills when I hear this masterful piece. Great, great, great.

  • striking! This is a masterpiece.

  • This is how this piece is supposed to be played.

  • @busylifemeto nop, listen the Jeno Jando versión and you will delirious

  • @busylifemeto

Surely there's room for interpretation. I used to have another version of this (don't know who it was) that was every bit as dramatic in the bold passages, but slightly more languid in the entrance, and with a very quiet section before the end. It was marvelously done. I wish I still had a copy of it.

  • Wonderful performance. Who is the pianist performing?

  • Its Mike Tyson, don't confuse him for the ex-boxer.

  • @Ravenelvenlady It says so in the description =\

  • When we were small, my cousins and I would beg our aunt to play this and she always complied. Thanks for sharing this McHeath!

  • my dad did too and I cannot find anyone who has the same feeling for the piece when they play. He was very dramatic!

  • I am going to start learning this as soon as I download the bought sheet music!!

  • beautiful!

  • wow amazing piano song. if i ever come to this level i will learn how to play it

  • 10 stars. 10 stars. 10 stars!

  • this is a sweet piece

  • this is a level 6

  • what do yuo mean , have you just made up some sort of leveling system?

  • what grade is this piece? 4 or 5?

  • It's grade 8 :] x

  • i dont know how grades go in usa but in greece there are 9 grades. im 6 and im playing it for the exams

  • grade 8 mate :D

  • what grade is this piece? 4 or 5?

  • Many thanks indeed I am sorry for your loss

  • I put this link on the program for my 94 year old dad's memorial service, because he played it on our house piano and he played it beautifully! I will always think of Dad when I hear "Rustle of Spring."

  • this song just tugs at you, what a beautiful job playing! thanks so much, it's lovely

  • finally a studio recorded version of this!!!!

  • It's the best interpretation I've ever heard. Really good playing!

  • This is by far the best rendition of this piece on YouTube.

    Is the pianist known?

  • this is the original version correct?

  • Played from a 1900 score
