  • few compositional techniques used for this composition although nice to listen to

  • That is lovely!!

  • Cool piece! I like the sudden "storminess" in the middle -- this piece has flair =)

    Thanks for sharing!

  • @Wolfyx52x well a C is still good! im hoping to get a good mark in my composition i did, check it out sometime :D

  • very good! can i ask what grade you got for it? :)

  • @naffanharrison Thanks :), I got a C for this one :(, wasn't to happy, but then again it was rushed. I think I compose much better now though, as I listen back at this one.

  • Fantastic! Love the intricacies of the piano. Check out my compositions...

  • I still can't comprehend this story, maybe I don't know you well or my comprehension skills have weaken. This story is like a yacht ride, smooth and beautiful, but in the middle of it "we" are faced with high winds, and "we" gladly accepted nature's challenge. Eventually, we became tired, but "we" rode it through. However when I read your book again, its lines changes. The Drug called Music, enlighten me.

  • @TheDrugMusic In the A section it has a scherzando feel to it, implying that everything is well. However the sudden contrast into the B with the contrapuntal texture, shows the distress of the sudden storm, big waves, and so on. But when the A section comes back it is simulating that the storm has passed, however as the piece is in rounded binary form it is not the full A section, but only a part of it. This is meant to imply that it is only the eye of the storm and more is still to come.

  • @Wolfyx52x The marks are very... stingy, you get the awards for the most compositional techniques you use, not how it sounds (well, you might if for example it was set for a choral piece, in which case your word-painting skills would need to be fairly profilic.) An issue here, is that you did not really use a variety of timbre; well you couldn't as you only had strings and a piano. I do like the composition, but I can't pick out many techniques.

  • This is amazing :D... I'm doing AS Level Music, and I based my composition around Debussy's Trio for the Flute, Harp and Viola. Hope to get a good mark for it too :D... But this is amazing... I really like it :D

  • @SpearsProductions Thank-you very much :), I need a B in music over all to get on my University course :). ooo I love Debussy's works, I am currently learning the 1st arabesque on piano :). AS, so 1st year of a levels :), What composition brief did you do? Hope you do well in your exam and stuff too :). Thanks again :).

  • Can you please give this story a name? Perhaps a book with a title will give its reader a little more comprehension. The Drug called Music, greetings.

  • @TheDrugMusic I am afraid I have not given it a name :(. But I see your point :), I think Rema, because of the date it was completed (25th of April) is an important date of for me as my dad and uncle died on that date in 1998 :P. So personally I think Rema is fitting as their ship that sank was called 'Rema'. :). Thanks for the point, it feels more complete as a piece now :).

  • Who composed this, may I ask? Either way I love it, will comment more after your reply (: the Drug called Music, thanks for sharing the Music my friend.

  • @TheDrugMusic I composed this piece for my A-level composition unit :). I hope to get get a good grade for it :)! I'm happy that it is liked :), thank-you :).

  • It's fab!
