  • soso ich bin total naja wie soll ich sagen reich

  • Brazil. After years of service an aircraft technology is still usable and multi task. Besides being one of the most elegant. I wonder if his government would not sell them even countries with little money for their air forces? Or will be placed in reserve? Should provide for my country. It was to buy the Rafale, but gave up in times of crisis. It would be great to have an IDS or ADV here.

  • this was the aircraft that gave me my love of aircraft. ever since sitting in one at a luftwaffe base in the uk and getting tour of base by family friend when i was 5 i have never looked back. this was my first love.

  • The Tornado's results were, is very good. It is a machine that has 30/35 yo of design and has worked in multiple theaters of employmen without disappoint. Watch USAF losses...

  • @MalinGenGTEAM1970 Except no Tornado ADV's have ever been shot down.

  • @bryUK Unless you count the 6 that were shot down in Desert Storm

  • @pro2man Alas, I'm afraid they were the Tornado IDS version, not the ADV version I mentioned or featured in this video. One is a bomber, one is a fighter.

  • @bryUK BOO YEAAA OWNED

  • @bryUK i think the bias was obvious. a, dude comes from a bing bing dong dong country, so obvious not too bright. b. he subscribes to russia today, so he hates all things that result in freedom and democracy, and believes in being a b*tch slave to dictatorial regimes... about sums it up right. btw, you are def right about no adv's being shot down... d*mn good aircraft. on par with all modern advanced aircraft, which is 90 steps ahead of the former eastern block aircraft. ltr

  • @pro2man

Where I am from we call that 'PWNED'.

  • @Reqrezentin

LOL Very nice :) Where I am from we call that "Dont care much for the british antique roadshow" It is however from time to time nice to listen to antique dealers talk about inferior equipment that few other nations wants. LOL. Sånn er det å være neger unge på flukt, som du selv beskriver deg selv som "Thumbs up"

  • @pro2man

Wow, you got me all figured out. But that's PWNED is what you are. How are you even able to respond? Don't you have to go fishing, hug down a tree or climb a mountain in Norway?

Du er stadig en luder :).. Also watch the video on my page.

  • @pro2man No Tornado F3 losses in combat

  • @bryUK Unless you count the 6 that were shot down in Desert Storm

  • A lot of experts out there, BryUK. Great vid. I agree with your comments. I flew the F3 90-93 (before later upgrades) and it was very good at what it was designed to be - an Air Defence Interceptor. My previous tour was the F-15 with the USAF. These are totally different concepts and roles. The F-15 was amazing to fly, but the F-3 did UK Air Defence and deployed ops extremely well. I also flew the F-4 and it was great for its era, but the F-3 was a step up operationally.

  • @ElysiumStrand The F15 and F14 were both once considered as 'large area Interceptors' to protect UK airspace, primarily North Sea region, but both were rejected, mainly due to cost I think.

I agree with BryUK when he says the F14 would have been ideal, as that's what it was designed for with the US Navy, large area defense, but how do you think the F15 would have performed in that role? Assuming it had been configured for it, lets say a UK optimised version of the F15E.

  • @ianrkav Version of the F-15E would have been better than a C, but all that A2G capability would be wasted. Way way too expensive to not use 70% of the aircrafts abilities.

And the issue that either the F-15 would have to be heavily redesigned for drogue aerial refuelling or very hefty work on the Tristar/VC10/Victor for a boom.

It would have been much cheaper to get the F-14 than to make the F-15 ideal for protecting the North Sea gap.

  • @bryUK Hi. What I meant was basically an F15C with a back seater, just like F14 or Tornado ADV, optimised primarily for that role you know. That alone shouldn't have been too difficult to achieve with two seat trainer combat capable F15B/D already existing.

Is it really such a big job to change between flying boom/drogue? There seems to be more to this than what's on the end of the probe:-)

What's interesting now is single seat Typhoon is taking over the role! Unless they make a two seat:-)

  • @ianrkav Yup, its a huge job to change between boom and drogue, especially in something as small and compact as a fighter. Fuel pipes need to go through difference places, and there isn't a lot of space to spare. There would have been some avionics work to replace the AIM-7 Sparrows with SkyFlash missiles.

The difference between the F-15C and Typhoon is over 30 years worth of new technology and automation to reduce pilot workload. That's what lets a single seater do the job.

  • I hate this type it cost lots of hard work for maintenance plus time and money, Its fucking old plane and to be honest it has bad history war , there were 14 of Tornado's have destroyed in Desert War. Low level ? Duh !!

  • Tornado's carried out the most dangerous missions in the early days of the Gulf War. Low level attacks on airfields that no other aircraft could perform so effectively.

And yes, they took a pounding.

Once they were reassigned to precision attacks at higher altitude, no more Tornados were shot down.

Its like the A-10. If you perform a dangerous mission, you're more likely to take losses, no matter how good or tough the aircraft.

  • @Oo52oO The sorties carried out by raf tornados at the start of the war were the most dangerous of the entire war. They were the first aicraft in to the battle trying to take out enemy air fields, these attacks were carried out in the face of exceptionally strong anti-aircraft artillery and missile fire from the Iraqis. What have you read about what they had to do or are you just looking at numbers and not knowing anything about what they had to perform??

  • @pramboy09 sure i know what does it do , i used to repair it babe

  • @Oo52oO really? strange how all RAF pilots and crew that i have spoken to love the aircraft.

  • @pramboy09 coz its an Europe Made , so they should love whatever they made

  • @Oo52oO

Bit of a simplified way to look at it. The first generation Harrier may have been British, but there was no denying some of its shortfalls like how to change the engine, the entire wing had to be removed.

  • @Oo52oO Pretty sure english isn't your first language, but what i will tell you is the tornado is a great aircraft, it's the quickest in the world on the deck and does it's job it was designed for very well. But as an interceptor it isn't so great, it is very fast at low level but it isn not designed as a fighter; it has been used as an interceptor similar to what the phantom was supposed to be used for. But now with eurofighter typhoon in service, the tornado provides the perfect foil.

  • @pramboy09 Just read my reply and i don't think engish is my first language!!

  • @pramboy09 I am sure that u know the Pilot Lieutenant John Nichol and what happened to him in 1991, He said the Tornado is not that effective as a weapon, but it's terrifying when you see it ,so here is a tornado pilot admitted that the tornado is shit

  • @Oo52oO Hardly. -Flight- Lieutenant John Nichol (a navigator, not a pilot) never said the Tornado is a bad aircraft and he certainly doesn't blame the jet for what happened to him. He pointed out the aircraft has flaws and shortcomings, as they all do. But it has its strengths and place.

He had been critical about the GR4 update program and some of the failings in that project which meant it took far longer than it should have for the aircraft to be fully combat capable.

  • @bryUK well, to be more honest the Tornado will always be in update coz its will never be fully one, only the American jets r fully and the Top in world.

  • @Oo52oO Well that's funny, because I've known a few USAF personnel that really wanted to get the Tornado for the low-level interdiction role, especially after it first appeared at bombing competitions and walked away with a number of first and second places.

To the extent that the RAF Tornado crews stopped being invited to those competitions because it was becoming embarrassing.

    But it was politically unacceptable.

  • @bryUK well, it will be always embarrassing for everyone wherever the Tornado be

  • @Oo52oO Sorry, but with a retort like that, I would hardly say you're giving yourself much credibility.

  • @bryUK its Ok, but no hard feeling baby,

  • 2.55 onwards for a few seconds, see the MDC pin has been left in..?

  • loool , u r Right , that really not Good for RAF

  • Hi hi, don't put your squadron logo on the tail fin ...it will blacken by the smoke.

  • Tornado Air Defence Variant looks more slim if compared with the Ground Attack version, I love the ADV version, but can you guys tell me why in every Tornado's tail fin looks like blacken by burn mark, is it because the heat caused by the engine nozzle brakes? nice video, all the best.

  • Yes, its a result of the aircrafts thrust reversers. The only time you see a Tornado with a clean tail fin is when its fresh out of the paintshop though it quickly gets dirty again.

  • Excellent Aircraft, Excellent Video :)

But one correction, the ADV is being retired early in 2010 :(

  • Brought it forward again then.

Ah well. At least there is another aircraft to actually replace it, unlike when the Sea Harrier was retired.

  • nice vid
