  • 1:03 for the epic part.

  • im sorry if this is a dum question but how many ways are their to play the devils trill i love this song and just wanted to know

  • He looks kinda like Carlton Banks........

  • I wish i had learnt the violin at school, i picked guitar like everyone else :/

  • Wonderful interpretation, I just started to learn to play(a little late, but it's something I've always wanted to do) and I hope to make it to this kind of level one day.

  • 3:11 <3

  • @GaleMatty yes true but the devil is evil & so are his demons he tried to be better than god so god made hell especially for him & the angels that he convinced to rebel but while he was in heaven he was the best of all music the master.

  • Story goes Satan came to him in his dream and played this, so he wrote what he could down.

Satan is the master of the violin. This proves Christianity

Wrong for what they claim Satan to be, if lucifer can make this beautiful piece of music then this shows what and who he is. In other words there's no evil in Satan and his "demons" period

  • @fca06 how many month did it took you to finish the devil's trill??

  • I finished reading the manga Descendants of Darkness book 3 yesterday and they mentioned The Devil's Trill. I'm glad I'm listening to it right now, it's so amazing!

  • There could be room for improvements, but, wow, this is one of the hardest pieces and he played it pretty good overall, that's amazing

  • @perennialLove

People DO LOVE this song because they aren't concerned about where it came from. Do you honestly believe listening to this will send you to hell or bring you any other negative consequences? It's a beautiful piece and people enjoy it.

  • Thank you....

  • Why does people loved this song even though it was composed by a demon in tartini's dream...

  • @PerennialLove Because it sounds unbelievably good.

  • @PerennialLove Because it sounds so beautiful.

  • this is just beautiful it makes me kinda tear i loved this song its very hard on violion because of how fast it is i was looking up an anime and it had this song soo im like ooh lets try this out wonderful job dude KEEP up the good work [:

  • Imagine if mozart had the same dream. he wouldve been able to write it all.

  • Amazing! This piece wants me to start taking violin!!

  • the song grips my heart but also brings tears to my eyes...its strange

  • sheet music download anyone? anyone know where to get it?

  • @Maegyn7Gwendolynne

I have the sheets scanned. Just PM me your e-mail and I will send you a copy.

  • @LotusArcanjo no that would be the Devil when't down to Georgia

  • The Devil's Trill actually makes me want to learn how to play a violin. How difficult would it be to learn beginning at a later age (17)?

  • @Sedraen Im 13 and starting learning at 12, i dont think age makes much a difference, becuase my brother is 4 and can barely speak correctly, but can still play like me (Almost professional). So it may be easy for you. It all depends on your learning capability. Im dyslexic and it was easy.

  • @lolowting45 Wow...Seriously?

  • @Sedraen I'm 15 and have been playing for about 7 years and I'm nowhere near as good at this. The violin is actually an extremely difficult instrument to play well because there's all the fingering, tones, harmonics and vibrato. BUT that doesn't mean that it's impossible to play. If you put it a lot of time and practice, you can become really good! The earlier you start, the better! I say, go for it! You're still quite young.

  • For something made by the devil, it sounds pretty heavenly to me.

  • I liked it alot !

  • uuuugh this song gives me chills...its so damn awesome <3

  • If ever there was a satan, you sir must be him. This just not earthly... And I mean this the nicest possible way of course ;)

  • Amazing!

I'm currently learning how to play this piece for my High School's Solo Ensemble :) Doing well on the first section buuuuut.. having a hard time on the second. :'D

I still can't get over how beautifully you're playing this piece. I'm a little envious of you, I'm not going to lie. :P

  • omg that man looks like possessed, we need an exorcist

  • he's a Romanian, isn't he? I love the Italian violin vituozos...

  • Hey - really nice job! I like the comment you left below about learning from three different sources; very wise. I'm thinking I'm going to program this for a recital in the fall. Does the International edition include the Kreisler edition? Sorry if this is a dumb question - I've actually never seen the score before, besides what is on IMSLP and that, of course, doesn't include the Kreisler cadenza. Any help you can give would be great! Thanks! Joe

  • oh wow...that's amazing

  • This is my favorite performance!!

  • thank you for your comment! this music is very special and besides love, desire you'll need a mentor, a teacher someone that will guide you through it.

get to it methodically and play it slowly many times. once you repeat it many, many times you'll discover how the music is revealing even more beautiful.

i believe we learn from 3 sources. first is from a teacher, a master; second is from ourselves and third from time that is passing and brings new thoughts and ideas...

    good luck

  • I started playing violin when I was 13 years old and have been playing violin for about a little less than 2 years... I can only play 15 measures of this song... I hope I can play like you someday!

  • It's magic...

  • And also- are you a professional player?

Any or all answers much appreciated, and thankyou so much for putting this up on youtube, I really should get out and see some concerts.

  • @beagle3341 @beagle3341 I would say it took me 3 weeks to learn it but than much more than that to make it my own, to develop my personal interpretation. I play violin for about 22 years and yes I am a professional player. My advice would be to make sure in your daily practice routine you include technical exercises. One needs a strong foundation to play well! Technically, the most difficult pieces I played would be Shostakovich 2nd Violin Concerto and Bartok Chaccona. Good luck

  • A couple of questions- how long did it take for you to learn this piece? I've been playing over 10 years and I am no where near ready to tackle that cadenza. How long have you been playing for? I'm curious to know what sort of commitment it takes to learn play a piece like this. And also- it sounds incredible, and very flashy, but is it actually the most difficult piece that you have played?

  • wow, this is amazing, good job...this looks like its its difficult to play!!

  • So far... fantastic! Good job!

  • @simonlukebaber Thanks Simon. I'm really glad you like my interpretation of this great piece.

Art, music is very subjective...and as an old master once said: Do as you feel best because people are going to criticize anyway!

  • This was good!

  • This remains as my favorite violin piece of all time. And I've heard a lot. It's beautiful precisely because it's so hard to play. Cristian's rendition is a bit dragging and as someone has said, he uses too much vibrato. Vanessa Mae's recording would probably be nicer if she could only play it live in exchange for her stage antics and techno. lol.

  • A guy named Cristian(Christ) played the song that's supposed to sell your soul. Nice lol.

  • Hmm... I wonder what this would sound like in Baroque style... 415 tuning, gut strings, harpsichord instead of piano, etc., etc.

Over all, this guy's amazing (of course), but I personally think he uses too much vibrato and he sometimes holds the notes out a little too long, so the piece ends up dragging. I've heard other recordings of this piece that I liked better, but... Well, everyone has their own unique style of playing.

  • @jdlhnew The devil plays along.

  • I'm guessing THAT'S Giuseppe Tartini? Well...whoever he is...he's AMAZING!!! o_o

  • @RosettaBianchi

ehm...Tartini is dead...like 300 years now. Unless the whole devil dream thing keeps him looking young :D

  • I'd sell my soul for this

  • super !!!

    5 stars !! ^_^

  • weeeeeena exelente

  • Fantastic!

  • Lovely performance, Christian. thanks for posting.

  • I cant believe this guy had a dream about a demon playing a violin and then figured out all the notes that demon was playing.

  • He didn't figure out the notes. He even said (I'm going to paraphrase a bit)--that what he had written was "so inferior to what I had heard, that if I could have subsisted on other means, I would have broken my violin and abandoned music forever."

  • Well I guess the demons can also express themselves like this.

  • @zoraxpower First, its not this guy,the actual guy is dead.Secondly, he admits what he composed is inferior to the actual tune.

  • I believe it because when you obsess over something it's natural to have a dream about it. All men of passion understand this. I'm a chemistry major and sometimes I dream about studying (don't laugh). So it makes sense that a violinist who practiced each day of his life had a dream about it.

  • @zoraxpower that is weird

  • @zoraxpower weird

  • @zoraxpower Not demon, the devil himself. The Devil is not a demon :) He's an angel not wanting to take commands under us humans. speaking of nothing.

  • @zoraxpower

actually, he said that he never did. Tartini (the guy who dreamed it) said that it was beyond anything he's ever heard and what he had written down wasn't even close to what he heard...thus was bothered by it for lik the rest of his life

  • @zoraxpower And actually the legend says that when Tartini finished writing it, he wanted to break his violin in two because what he had written was nothing compared to what he heard in his dream O___O

  • @zoraxpower according to the story, he can't make out the notes. he can't play as good as the devil... and he can't remember the song whole... that's what drives him mad... CMIIW

  • @zoraxpower No, he didnt figure out all the notes. In fact Tartini believed his version was much more inferior.

  • @DeathNoteFreak000 Oh I was just going off what a game called Shin megami tensei: Devil survivour mentioned about this guy.

  • @zoraxpower The more you know :D

  • @zoraxpower he just played abit of what he heard, from what i know he said what he wrote was know where near as good as what he heard in his dream

  • @morrius07 You are not the first one to tell me this over two years -_-

  • @zoraxpower lol sorry, i just didnt feel like searching threw all the comments to see if someone said it lol

  • Wow! Is he ever good at this piece!

  • has anyone tried 2 do this with a guitar? just asking...but this song and the way he plays it, is simply amazing!

  • JUST FANTASTIC! PURE INTONATION, Great style beautiful big fat sound. What more could you ask for.

  • well the 'Devils' Chord is hard to play, and he does it very well

  • he plays 2 strings

  • i think violinist SHOULD show emotion. If you had a plain face on during a performance. its like otay..he's not really enjoying playing this. when i play something on my violin, my body sometimes sways to it. or if it its a really happy piece and i really enjoy i smile really big. normally i don't notice it until i finish playing though X3 showing emotion shows that you're really into the music.

  • it's damn hard to concentrate and show emotion to the piece as well.

  • when you show emotion, you just do it, like when you smile, it jsut happens. X3

  • The violin should show the emotion for him.

  • ЗАМЕЧАТЕЛЬНО.

  • すごい

  • すごい

  • that was a great :)

  • @narusaku300 Obviously, you've never laid a hand on the violin before. Shut the fuck up and stop saying such asinine, ignorant things.

  • Beautiful. He would be absolutley be wonderful at playing some Winter Sonata songs. They're from a Korean soap opera, and they're beautiful

  • best performance of this particular piece that i have ever seen

  • Wow!

  • oh wow. this sounds like there's two violin players, not one.

  • 8D Absolutely amazing!!!!!!

  • wow!!!!!!!!!!!!! sometimes he looks like Gil Shaham...very very very impressive!!!!

  • Not many can play the devil trill and so far this guy can play it without losing strings. great job
