I remember as a kid, I broke the world record for points in this game, but I only had a several-year old book as reference, lol. I was still really proud, even though it probably had been beaten by a ton of other people too.
man, gaming sux now. back in the day, gaming was awesome. no one cared about graphics only. they cared about game play, music, and fun factor. i was the only one in my grade 8 class who loved classic games. im going into highschool now, so i hope there are more retro gamers.
Best game ever! I just played it today for the first time since I was like four years old. But I gotta say, it wasn't as trippy an experience as I thought it would be.
Yeah. I'd love to see some more classic reviews or stuff like that without some guy saying that the game is like a fucking piece of dogshit stuck up a monkeys anus and vomited on by topless 80-year old women who after vomiting on the anus are licking it up and puking again on a roadkilled frog which afterwards gets eaten by giant asshole from mars with constant diarrhea coming out of it that tastes like monkeyfuck but not half as bad as the game. Shit like that is beginning to get real old.
...is it just me, or could this "guide" be summed up by saying "be quick, kill monsters if you get the chance, but try not to let their corpses block your way"? The guy doesn't tell you anything everyone who had the game already knew, surely they could've found a better game to cover.
swordquest was a broken, incomplete, rushed game. Plus, it was a contest, so they'd never do that. But needless to say, you still need the manual to play the game properly. You have to do several different things and refer to the manual for things as well.
Nice, i remeber this one on colecovision, actually it was my first video console, and my very first play game... i still have the coleco vision game console...
Wow, wicked flashbacks, I feel like a war vet of sorts, suffering from post-post-post-post Venture stress disorder. Hey how about how to beat the game "Superman" for the 2600?

I like shooting and ignoring trolls too. I bet that guy had no idea of the significance of what he said at the time.

Agreed. The Colecovision vision is superior, or, closer to the arcade. The Green Monster sound always scared me when I was a kid.

Me too. That's why I didn't play it much.

I loved Venture as a kid. The ColecoVision version was much, much better. It was "arcade perfect".
