This was the case in the past, but Plantra has developed a vented tube that allows the trees to harden off in northern climates where they face potential winter injury. Tree in the south don't face these problems as the transition to winter isn't as quick as it is up north and the trees can safely go dormant.
I read somewhere tree shelters can cause the tree to fail to go dormant in the fall and cause winter injury. Could you explain more on this? I can't find any information on this.
