Sony was offered this camera before Microsoft. Sony turned it down because they know from experience with Eyetoy and PSEye that using just your body for games would limit them far more and offer far less interaction and possibilities. They said it themselves that they turned it down because it only offered a more robust experience but not a completely new one with less possibilities then using a controller such as Move which so far is the most accurate and advanced motion controller for gaming.

You know Project Natal & PS Move are so different, but not better than one another. Project Natal: one Camera many players. PS Move: buy all controllers & Camera. @lokie032269 from what I read the PS Move can sense even the slighting tremble in your hand. Microsoft didn't seem to mention this about Natal. With natal it a may call for more dramatic movement than with PS Move.
Because all videos we have seen and specifications and details about what people that have played it said. Natal has not shown one video that proves it is ahead of Eyetoy for PS2.
Natal is far FAR less interaction. It needs controllers that accurately depict where you aim them and such and with buttons so you can do more then just move your arms and legs to controller. Move is far more precise then Natal with far more accurate 3D depth plus it has buttons.
@edgeofsins I guess I didn't clarify interaction. PS move as far as I know does not have characters that recognize voice commands and interact with you which is plans for future games using Natal, aka more intelligent AI. Also with Natal it suppose to recognize your body, and also can tell the difference between the foreground and background. The problem is it lacks depth and buttons, but still one does not seem better than the other, because they are both enhancements of what already exists.
Natal shows a faked demo of Milo. Which is proven fake with numerous reasons. Also its voice recognition was scripted and wasnt true voice recognition. PS2 has voice recognition for socom 1. Any game on PS3 can have voice recognition if it choses to add it. Also, XBox has worse specifications and Natal is less accurate. It is not at all more advanced in AI.
The motion controls have nothing to do with the AI. The console does. Move has shown twice as much more interaction

How is it dumb? Steering? There is not one car game announced yet that uses this because they can use the regular dualshock 3s sixaxis motion control which is just as good for that specific kind of game.
Actually if you look hard there are very old videos of the guy in this video that talks about Move(not the one actually playing it) playing around with a motion controller like this but it wasn't as accurate as now but still very cool. Before the Wii came out and a lot of people have said that Move took like 5 years to make. And that time does pay off if you read a lot of details.

natal is controler-less, but to me it seems pretty obvious the level of accuracy and the responsiveness of this one are infinitely superior. what good is an amazing technology like controlerless gaming if it doesn't allow you to play without being frustrated?

and. the 360 motion controlls can have voice recognition, but the eyetoy, and the eye both have had it for a long long time, the 360's project natal, cannot recognize when you leave a room, which is why an analog stick has always been needed. without one, ur just sitting there pretending to do something, looking stupid as shit, and not being able to leave ur box of a room.

@alucard123death omg, this detects all your movements aswell, it just doesnt show it in theis video. that isn't a conroller either, it is a foam baton used in, say, a sword fighting game. so it is nothing at ALL like the wii. look something up before you insult it.

Similar to how Apple's products are viewed. Many believe they are the future. Yes they are great and I think its quite worth the price but now Microsoft is trying to pretend that Natal is the iPhone of its category. Literally calling it a revolution. Sony was offered this camera before Microsoft. Sony turned it down because they know from experience with Eyetoy and PSEye that using just your body for games would limit them far more and offer far less interaction and possibilities. They said it themselves that they turned it down because it only offered a more robust experience but not a completely new one with less possibilities then using a controller such as Move which so far is the most accurate and advanced motion controller for gaming.

You know Project Natal & PS Move are so different, but not better than one another. Project Natal: one Camera many players. PS Move: buy all controllers & Camera. Project Natal: Less accurate but more interactive. PS Move: More accurate but less interaction. Still getting a PS3 though, to place right beside my 360.

Natal is far FAR less interaction. It needs controllers that accurately depict where you aim them and such and with buttons so you can do more then just move your arms and legs to controller. Move is far more precise then Natal with far more accurate 3D depth plus it has buttons.

PS move as far as I know does not have characters that recognize voice commands and interact with you which is plans for future games using Natal, aka more intelligent AI. Also with Natal it suppose to recognize your body, and also can tell the difference between the foreground and background. The problem is it lacks depth and buttons, but still one does not seem better than the other, because they are both enhancements of what already exists.

Natal shows a faked demo of Milo. Which is proven fake with numerous reasons. Also its voice recognition was scripted and wasnt true voice recognition. PS2 has voice recognition for socom 1. Any game on PS3 can have voice recognition if it choses to add it. Also, XBox has worse specifications and Natal is less accurate. It is not at all more advanced in AI.
The motion controls have nothing to do with the AI. The console does. Move has shown twice as much more interaction

I like the actual feel of a least a wand looking thing in my hand rather then playing make believe like on project natal. Nintendo did something right with the wii and that is why sony is taking the Wii's approach to things rather than taking a step backwards to the original eye toy like project natal. Actually if you look hard there are very old videos of the guy in this video that talks about Move(not the one actually playing it) playing around with a motion controller like this but it wasn't as accurate as now but still very cool. Before the Wii came out and a lot of people have said that Move took like 5 years to make. And that time does pay off if you read a lot of details.

You are making baseless assumptions. Microsoft, for all we know, could be researching heavily with multiple partners into motion detection. If the research pay's off and they have a major breakthrough with the technology, the Microsoft Natal system will open a whole new chapter to gaming.

PS3 doesn't suck, i would be happy if i had it.
I can't chose between Xbox and PS both consoles are good, so i preffer having both :D.
But since xbox is cheaper i bought it (i don't pay for XBL gold) because my pc is week and the xbox is cheaper than an upgrade...
