  • BRAVO! I'm been playing for a little over a year and I'm working on this piece now. I'm currently working on the Presto co Fuoco coda (which you did brilliantly, btw), and I'm loving it. Maybe when I'm done with the piece I'll ask you to critique it. That would be cool :)

  • I wish you'd give more pauses in between the last sections. Also, finally someone who uploaded this and can actually play the presto con fuoco coda.

  • i could give 4 criticisms but instead i gonna say you were wonderful !!

  • Oh, then please, fire away with the criticisms! I also love to hear what people have to think about my playing aside from "wonderful" ^^

  • Nice! I played it in 1978 for my LRSM exam. You played it wonderfully!

  • ...wow, that long ago? Thanks for listening ^^

  • Post more videos :)

  • You are seriously amazing. Keep it up. You'll make it big.

  • Thanks for your encouragement! I'll be very happy if I don't have to live in a box...

  • Hey no problem man, you have some major talent. And I know how you feel, believe me. I have been playing this for ages, and I'm about half way... how do you recommend getting past there.. how long did it take you?

  • Oh, good luck to you! It'll be an amazing journey I'm sure!

You may not need this anymore, but here is - sorry this is late! First, you want to work on technique as best you can - talent is no use if you can't play the notes! Musically, what I found irksome is shaping the whole piece convincingly - don't get carried away with all the different emotions in segments! Shape the structure. No berserk, sudden tempo changes (except for the coda), don't exaggerate dynamics. And it has to be elegant.

  • Wow that makes perfect sense. Thank you, that's what I was hoping I would hear. You're definately going places. Good luck to you as well!

  • same here am also working on ballade in g minor.

  • Duro como pija de preso

  • ...if Google did it right...

...then yeah, it is not easy! Wrong notes, awkward phrasing, rubato not quite right...

  • wow, that was amazing..

bgs.. aku br mau buat rkaman ini jg..

    hehe...

  • thanks man! looking forward to yours!

  • The coda was absolutely stunning! How long have you been working on the Ballade? I'm learning it right now and you're a of great source of inspiration! Cheers from Stockholm!

  • Thank you =) I learnt this in 2004 and kept playing it randomly even today ^^

  • The emotion is very nice but when faster fingerings are required you lose fluidity, delicacy and accuracy. I watched your other videos as well; it seems that it is pervasive throughout but again your expressiveness is excellent. More practice, finger exercises, you have great potential.

  • Thanks for your encouraging words! I will continue working on those exercises!

  • I am so happy you did not rush my favorite part near the end like everyone else does. This is great. It seems like people can manage to get through the whole piece without butchering it too much and then they screw up at the end, even at Carnegie Hall. The thing is, you can't get away with a purely technical performance with Chopin like you can with some other composers. You have to have the right expression, otherwise it just won't work. Well done.

  • O.o true! Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it =)

  • Perfect! That is the best No.1 Op.23 played at home that I watch in all my life!

  • Thanks! That's too kind...

  • Good performance.

What type of piano is this?

    Thanks.

    Bye.

  • Thank you ^^

It is a 2007 Kawai RX-3 - comes with the Millenium III action also found in Shigerus =D

  • You are clearly up to the demands of this magnificent piece - technically as well as emotionally. The treacherous coda was confidently dispatched and you were thrilling in that plunging downward scale towards the end. Thanks for this.

  • ...you're welcome! Glad you find it enjoyable =)

  • Nice playing. And you're apparently an aussie. Kudos, we are gonna conquer youtube, one video at a time.

  • Ahaha sure thing! Thanks for watching!

Coda: I can do a special DaSDC audition clip if so desired ^^

  • ahahahah fuckkkkkkkkkk tru do diz!!!

  • What about ambition?

  • This is a great interpretation! I'm currently practicing this piece little by little and you play it very well! Yep, I'm subscribing now and I hope you can do the same^_^.

  • P.S Have you been in any competitions? Also, fix the audio; I kinda feel like Beethoven...

  • Thank you! Best wishes to you! It's a great work, isn't it?

Yes I have been in many piano competitions here in Australia, and am continuing to do so - and hopefully some international ones next year ^^
