I'm half and half. Very good voice, but there were some patches of Ben Harperish vocal gymnastics that came across as puncey. This is a working man's song, about a bloke who builds engines, it has to be sung with balls and desperation. You have to live a song like this and express it's pain. This version, despite your singing talent, came across as too soft and flouncy.
Great intonation mate.. fucking spot on.. and a great vocal tone too.. but I can see what people mean with the interpretation. Its not necessarily the style that's particularly bad but the whole song is static in emotion and there's no build up throughout.. which is something that should be common to ALL contemporary music.. especially guitar strumming, vocal contemporary music like this.
