In answer to the Question - "Where can I buy a TickleMe Plant?" Search TickleMe Plant as there are many sources and some even have complete greenhouse growing kits. It is a great green gift for anyone who likes plants, gardening, science or nature.

  • where and how i can buy this plan ..i loved it . and it look fun and pretty

  • If mimosa trees grow near you or a relative, just get some of the dry seed pods off the ground in the fall. The seeds are very easy to grow.

  • gosh. rather than banish my fear, this video has made me even more fearful. There's no name for this phobia. gahh

anyway, it's a really good video. The rate at which this plant grows is amazing! In 5 days, from a bud to flower to shoot!

    It's so fast it's scary.

    Thanks. :D

  • What time of the year does the plant flower?

  • Ahh after looking more closely at your tags I see that you name it DOH

  • I think that plant is the Mimosa pudica am I right?

I remember growing them in the green house at school many many years ago.

  • Those things are great! They grow as weeds here. I never knew the flowers bloomed in rapid succession! Neat!

  • Hi, germination time will depend on temperature of course but you should start to see some growth in about a week or so.

The plant grows slower then radishes or beans, more like the growth rate you might see in a tomato seedling.

The music was by Ryan Holladay Road To Donnelaith (instrumental) [CD:New Kid In Town]

    Hope this helps, ML

  • very cool, I am growing a few of these from seeds now. How long will this take? Also cool music, what is it?

  • is that the same bud re-blooming over and over?

  • Hi, no - each bud blooms one time only. The bloom only lasts about half a day then another bud blooms. Sometimes more then one at a time too.

    Later, ML

  • wow. thats cool. how did the plant keep re-blooming? thats awsome

  • Use this enlightening video for students in graduate and undergraduate classes. Our teachers use it in their curriculum to motivate students to learn about plants in classrooms grades K-12.

It demonstrates to children that plants are magical living things. It excites students and makes them aware of the wonderful nature of plants. They watch in awe a as the bud opens into a cotton candy flowers and see the example of thigmotropism of this sensitive plant. Each student grows a tickleme plant.

  • that wasn't that good, and I've seen those plants before at the Eden Project.

  • Wow! That's pretty amazing! Great time lapse footage.

    Can I buy that plant?

  • Hi pilotchip, thanks for the compliments. Sorry the plant in the video is MY pet plant, you can't buy it ;-)

Seriously, seeds are available for this amazing plant from the link in the picture at the start of the video or try:

    Take care, ML
